Appears to be over misconduct at his previous job, Southern Mississippi.

Weren't we in a recruiting battle with them over a player?

Yeah. Chris Clarke. He orginally committed to Tennessee before flipping to Va. Tech.

Ah, never mind then. A one and done coach is the only story here. My bad.

Tennessee probably should have done a bit more due diligence here.

Going to be interesting to see who these mid-level SEC schools end up getting. Mississippi State did about as well as they ever could have expected with Howland.

Ron Hunter is going to get a good job somewhere

In case you are wondering, there are not any players at UT that we could use from their existing team.

AD should be fired before lunch today for making the hire (unless he was forced to hire him).
This is the SEC and they love the football coach he hired. He could hire ten more crappy basketball coaches and no one would even hint he should be fired.

Ron's not going anywhere right now. He at Georgia st at least another year with his son and then who knows start jobs will be open next year

He took a Boeheimian approach to the rule book.

Improper academic aid to ineligible students and some academic shenanigans with junior college transfers.

Perhaps worse, he still had access to his Southern Miss email account last fall and he deleted emails that the NCAA likely would have wanted to see.

I thought I read that his son will probably be entering the NBA draft this year.

This is a crazy coaching carousel already, and Texas and Indiana haven't even opened up yet.

Not to mention the guys that are linked to the NBA every year, namely Donovan, Hoiberg, and of course Calipari.
