Tennessee lost so much talent between the graduating class last year (Meme Jackson, Cheridene Green), transfers (Westbrook and Collins) and injury (Zaay Green)

Thats a crap load of production and depth

This is fixing to get ugly quickly. Tennessee now running the Holly's fire drill offense.

good chunk of Stanfords points are coming off dumb plays by Tennessee offensively.

Tennessee simply doesn't have the shooters either. The post play is horrendous outside of rebounding.

Kushkituah and Massengill cannot shoot at all. Losing Green was a major blow and its showing against quality competition.

This was my first chance to see Haley Jones playing. Haven't seen anything really noteworthy so far.

I voted for Stanford to win, but I think it will be a closer game than most people imagine, quite possibly within single digits. If it turns out to be a 30-point blowout, then it will show that Tennessee is not much better than it has been in the recent past, and I don't think that is the case.
Stanford does not look like a #1 so far.
What team has looked like a #1 this season?

Box score at half Stan: 41.2 %, Tenn 28.6% FG percentage

Only one other team has shot better than Stanford against Tennessee in the first half this season in Texas. I'll expect Stanford to pick things up in the second half, and hopefully Jump got her misses out of her system.

I think Stanford also hasn't gotten the turnovers out of their system after a two week break, so you might expect that to continue to improve as the season goes on and the first years get some more experience. While I don't think that Tennessee is an offensive juggernaut, it's still impressive for Stanford to hold them to 24 points in a half.

Stanford has played only one true 'away' game, in San Francisco, and they have not played a game outside their time zone. How can we know whether they are a #1 caliber team?

Yeah, Victoria, BC is really close to the Bay Area.
