I don't bear a resentment to Jamal Coombs-McDaniel. I hate double standards and I'm taking you to task on your double standard.
Jamal Coombs-McDaniel had the great play in the Pitt game, but who is to say some other player couldn't have contributed in a like manner if Jamal Coombs-McDaniel weren't playing that game. He got an opportunity and made the best of it, but that doesn't mean someone else couldn't have done the same or more if they were in that position.
My reproach was directed at you and your tirade against Jerome, and is not directed at Jamal Coombs-McDaniel. There were a lot of things JD did in the championship season before he went down with the ACL injury that contributed to UConn's success that season. But you chose to focus in on the negative aspects of the kid and refused to give him credit for those contributions. Whereas you lauded Jamal Coombs-McDaniel for two seasons. Fine.

JD never bad mouthed a hall of fame coach. Unlike Jamal Coombs-McDaniel, who ran away from the challenge to prove the coaches wrong, JD got his teeth knocked out but returned to a game. What does that say about this aspect of the character of these two individuals? Jamal Coombs-McDaniel didn't stay at UConn to help the apr (although I don't believe he hurt it. Hopefully he will get his degree at his new university). JD got his degree in a timely manner.
I don't like JD more than Jamal Coombs-McDaniel. I point out these attributes of JD as compared to Jamal Coombs-McDaniel only to offer that both players gave something to UConn and both had flaws. But neither deserved the lynching that JD got during his senior year from his fan base. And you were one of the ring leaders of that mob.
