Idk if penny is on a major downward trend. The article from him talking to the magic states he’s in the running for the number 1 and 2 players in the country next cycle.
My thought was based on his commitments for 2022 so far (#'s 151, 153 and 157), although maybe they're down in rankings because he's got three transfers coming in plus another Lawson as a hard commit.

Plus, it seems his teams haven't played to the level expected relative to how highly rated his recruits have been in the past.

Where do we stand with Wilcher? Obviously its very early, but are we in the mix? I assume he would be a/ the top priority if he has interest in us. Any info would be great. thx
Wilcher seems like the perfect player to be our first 5 star. A long guard like Bouknight, northern New Jersey school, same schools as Corey Floyd Jr.

Let's hope DH can bring him in.

We aren't getting Wilcher. Bowen is the guy.
Lol why do you think that?

Out of the 12 commits Hurley has while at UConn (not including Brendan Adams bc he followed him from URI), 10 of them are in the ESPN Top 100 for their class. Only 2 who weren’t were Javonte Brown who’s from Canada and was never in the ranking system, and Richie Springs.

This has all been done with our only success being making the tournament once and losing.

What kind of recruits are we gonna start getting if we make it to the Elite 8? Sweet 16?

We aren't getting the #8 player in the class unless we have a HUGE early advantage. I'm not sure we are even recruiting him. We've been getting guys in the 40-80 range mostly--a GREAT place to build a championship team (and the kind of 2-4 year player I prefer).

The next step for us is guys in the 20-40 range. Like Bowen. And we have a huge early advantage to help reel him in if he catapults into the top 10.

hurley might not sign another 3* again...three or four 4*s every year with a 5* sprinkled in here and there is the magic recipe.

Wilcher's brother wants him to join him as part of Cornhusker Nation. Nice player but our future pipeline is full of strong PG/SG/CG candidates.

TBB>>>> Wilcher
