Yeah. Laimbier was in a class all by himself.Well, since I was, and then, a Celtics fan, I thought the Celtics were “chippy” but the Pistons were dirty.

Very true! He was THE trash talker.......BUT, he wasn't dirty OR a poor loser like Taurasi.
Ok, I can see where they hate to lose, but it looks unprofessional to show it, like Taurasi does! When did you see LB do anything 'dirty' like a cheap shot, where another player could've been hurt? Even when provoked he didn't purposely try and injure a player. I never saw him throw a punch 'unnecessarily'.

Let's put it this way: I certainly wouldn't want to drive the lane w/ Bird, McHale and Parish waiting in there.Chances are pretty good you were gonna get smacked around if you tried it. Danny Ainge was pretty intense. Can't remember so much about guys like DJ and Maxwell.
@hoophuskee I think you are attributing someone else's comments to me in this thread.
No. I was agreeing with you that the Celts you mentioned were tough / physical players capable of playing dirty basketball.
Went out of today's game in the 4th grabbing her back. Hope she's okay, she's been playing well this season.
Surely YOU just! He never went out to injure someone. Physical contact is part of the game. The point WAS it wasn't INTENTIONALIs this a joke??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So all of Larry Bird's rebounds, all of his inside moves were all so wonderful and clean???? Are you kidding?
He never threw "an elbow?" All of HIS HIGHNESS Larry Bird's elbows were all clean?
Jordan said if NBA players were surveyed Bird would have been voted near the top of being the dirtiest.
I'm not going to waste time with you or trade stories. Yes he was a trash talker, but it was the opponent's that lost their cool, thru the first punch or act of aggression. Bird used psychology to make his opponents make a mistake. What does "could have been hurt" mean? Further - what if you instigate? Does that count?
You can go on youtube and see Bird having fist fights. Everyone else's fault, right? Bird was a non-instigator every time? FIST FIGHTS. FIST FIGHTS. FIST FIGHTS. One of them with Dr J!! There's an interview with DR J and Michael Kaye and he was asked "IS there a player you wanted to punch in the mouth?" And he said "Larry Bird." You think Bird was playing clean?
I loved Larry Bird but imo your revising history and / or creating a double-standard. .
Larry Bird I love him to death but he was an instigator. He didn't have the athtticsm so he used his wits, his body to throw players off but he played dirty and he instigated with his both his body and his mouth. But ofc ":how you look" matters more, right?

Trash talk is part of the game people! I know you know that HH! If you back it up you just stated a fact!Larry Bird yapped too.
Bird was a dirty player but got away with it like all the star players!Very true! He was THE trash talker.......BUT, he wasn't dirty OR a poor loser like Taurasi.
