He’s obviously up there, but was he more important on offense than McNeeley? I think that’s debatable since his offense is predicated on others creating for him. Does his elite shooting make up for the massive holes he had in his game? Reed gave you 4 less points, but was elite on the boards, and solid on defense. Karaban gave us the same ppg on worse efficiency, but rebounded, defended, and passed at considerably higher levels.
I’d probably put the “impact” list as:
1. McNeeley
2. Reed
3. Karaban
4. Ball
I’m hoping Solo passes Alex this year with improvement to his defense and playmaking ability. But I think yall are heavily glossing over the flaws in his game. If you wanna say he was more impactful than Karaban simply because of how often he struggled with his shot, I could hear the argument, but I think that’s still ignoring all the other elite role player stuff Karaban does.
