If a senior center put up 10-7-2 in the loaded Big East, you’d never see these comments. It’s only because freshman Drummond wasn’t 2015 Anthony Davis people are so comfortable dissing him.

Not to argue, but an honest question: what did Drummond bring to the Husky table during his one year here?

Drummond walked onto the UConn campus and into the starting line up (30 0f 34 Games) of the defending national champions. He was an excellent rim protector blocking 2.7 shots a game. He scored 10 points and grabbed 7.6 rebounds in 29 minutes a game.

For reference, Clingan in his sophomore year (much better than his freshman year) had 2.5 blocks, 7.4 boards and and 13 points a games in 22.5 minutes.

So what did Drummond bring to the table? A lot.

It’s not his fault that he and Oriaki were just a horrible fit on the court together. That was a tough year for JC to figure out.

that high school scouting report is interesting. there's cases of guys who were not in good situations in college but played up to their high school tape in the league, and this is the staff to unlock his considerable potential.

No, it’s not. He was a talented freshman and his numbers were fine. There will always be many who lived through that season that will believe that the team would have been better had he not showed up on campus and everyone else didn’t have to make adjustments to their game to allow him and Oriakhi on the floor at the same time for most of the game.

You want to say that wasn’t on Drummond but the coaches and other players? Not unreasonable. But he did not make the team better, and the goal of a basketball player should be to make the team better. Not put up 10, 7 and 2.

Drummond was a unicorn that Calhoun never connected with. A late commit to the Program. Andre continues to thrive as a rebounder in the NBA when given PT and is clearly a talented guy that puts up highly efficient numbers as a rebounder.

Reed will surprise folks but he's not a Drummond kind of talent. For UConn the next two years- He'll be a great piece for the Program.

If Drummond played four years at UConn, he would have been one of the all time best. Period. Even you know that.

I don't think he gives a rats arse about what anyone thinks. He's shows up, plays when the coach sends him in, cashes checks. LeBron couldn't get rid of him fast enough.
