Tarris GTD

We don’t play StJ until February - these are the games that matter. We can sleepwalk through the BE slate to rest players. This should be our hardest game left, and most valuable. I’m sure another 15-20 minutes isn’t going to go chronic on him.
Yup, from your lips to his ears. Go Huskies!!

Yeah this is frustrating especially if the Kansas freshman plays
.... why is it frustrating if Peterson plays and not Tarris? I mean Peterson hasn't played in 6 games this year. Tarris 3....... our fan base has become incredibly delusional. Almost like we're now expected to win every championship for the next 20 years or its a bust

Exactly. He wouldn’t be playing if there’s a risk of more damage. That’s why I don’t understand people saying to rest him. Minutes restriction, for sure. Same with Mullins although it sounds like

It is frustrating, these are big games. He can miss Big East games if he has too, because our league stinks

The BE is hot garbage - 6 teams are practically buy games. The good news is we can rest guys as needed and really stretch the bench to work the rotations and get them run to season up for March.

No idea why Mr Faschizzle enjoys tracking it so much. Hey let’s see how hopefully not bad we can be.

We are delusional yes, but that's not it.

We're just plain greedy.

Blame the team not the fans.

Some of you have never severely sprained an ankle and it shows. One bad step and he’s out for the rest of the game and Florida and Texas too.

It’s not “just” a pain tolerance thing. It’s whether or not the ankle is stable enough for running, cutting and jumping.

Shoot, if the ligaments are already vulnerable, landing on someone’s foot could end his season.

It’s 12/2…..it’s pretty simple: if he’s hurt he shouldn’t play. UConn is about March/April, not December. We need him once we are there, not to get there.
Last year we had a bad November and it hampered our seeding in March. We probably make a second weekend run if not forced to play the eventual champs in round 2.

This year, given the caliber of our OOC and with the BE looking terrible, it's even that more important to win these early season games.

I wonder if there is any chance Reibe starts and depending on the score, if he is able to stay out of foul trouble, it is a wait and see approach with Reed. If there is ever a chance they can compete without him, then maybe he sits, rests and sits out against East Texas A&M to give him over a week off. Maybe he dresses, but does not play based on what's going on in the game.

The OoC games are important, but the NCAA does factor in injuries at the time. If UConn competes tonight w/out Reed, but still loses, it won't hurt that much if Reed is healthy and playing to his expectations in late Jan., Feb. and Mar..

And it is not about toughness. If anyone has ever suffered a high ankle sprain you know your body just doesn't let you push off the same. Some can even take longer to recover from than a broken or cracked bone. I had one in high school and my leg was black and blue and shades of green from the top of my foot to just below the knee. It took 3 months to recover from that, and even then there was still a little pain.
I'd rather rest Reed and have him hopefully much more mobile and ready to go against Florida and Texas.

I would say that putting Koroma on Bidunga isn't a horrible idea. Probably someone who can stay with him on defense and bother him a bit, but he'd really struggle to have any offensive impact at all.

The problem with not having Reed is (a) he's really good and can cause problems for Bidunga on both ends (b) we need the rebounding and (c) between Bidunga and Tiller they will draw fouls on Reibe. We need Reed to help put one of those KU bigs in foul trouble. Alex will live outside most likely.

And you still don't play him if it increases the risk of a long-term absence.

And if he hurts himself worse because he comes back too soon, it won’t matter what seed we have in March, we ain’t winning anything without him then. You really think that’s worth the risk??

Last years team was flawed from the beginning and that has nothing to do w injuries. You just made a comparison that is completely irrelevant. I could just the same argue that this isn’t a leap year so that’s why this year will be different than last.

Points for consistency. If there's a chance to knock a UConn dude and slobber over an opponent, you are all over it.
Listen, wear your blue tribal war paint all you want. I call it how it is. Do you want me to sugarcoat it for your preferred flavor? Have you watched him, know anything about FD? He's a very long, undersized 5 who is incredibly athletic & active. He's being mocked in plenty of first rounds. He's not one of the big goony Euros on Illinois. This would not be a great matchup for Reibe.

Inyatkin preference - Reibe is going to play GREAT. He's going to dig deep and build on his last game and go toe to toe!! How incessantly boring is that?

I'm looking at the two players, objectively. I said Bidunga is really athletic, and it's a bad matchup for Reibe, who is not. Why take it so personal?

Everyone is blinded by homerism but me! I'm the only one who calls it like it is! I and only I can see the truth as it truly is!

Do you get how annoying that is?
