Not only our 2 stars but Azzi and Caroline missed many games coach list his mother CD fainted like this whole season was weird and not normal
Help me with the details here! UConn missed Paige, a bonafide star. They missed Azzi, Caroline and Dorka for periods of time, all very good players, but not yet stars IMO. Who is the other star being being referenced? Can’t be calling Ice a star without her ever playing a game.

I don’t think anyone knows anything about WBB recruiting. On Twitter South Carolina fan also think they have silent commitments from everyone in the top 5 except Allie for 2024.
The collective IQ for Twitter fans (all schools combined) is about 22.

There's no evidence we have evn offered Strong. We probably have but Strong has never confirmed. Twitter fans don't understand that ther are no even any rumours about mutual interest

Well people can't assume LSU will win it all just because they won last year and added pieces that we don't even know it'll work out

That's what I thought, that South Carolina has higher priorities, but far be it from me to argue with the FAM on Twitter.

I don't think it's fair to say Paige is a star until after she returns from her injury. Yes she might have been before she got hurt but no need to put that kind of pressure or expectations on her, no one knows what kind of player she will be.

Pagie is a star because of her personality and with out a doubt she'll be the same Pagie because of her IQ and feel for the game. She's a Superstar

Yes you never know when it comes to injuries but have you seen her recent workout videos? She looks scarily good like she hasn't missed a beat.............BTW she'd be All-Big East on one leg......;)

Did you forget you’re on the UConn side of the women’s hoops boards?

All of the UConn players have a star on the back of their uniform which makes all of them stars.
Some are super stars, but they all still start out as stars. Stars are stars every day of the week. :p

I am a huge UCONN fan and follower but this year it was nice to see LSU win it all. The reason I say that is they got no respect for what they accomplished this past season before the tournament because of the "soft" schedule they played. What people missed is they didn't lose one game during the season to a lesser team. To never take a night off is as impressive as big wins to me.

With that said I think you need the horses to win the NC or a lot of breaks. The past couple years all the breaks UCONN got were of the bad variety and when that stops they will win the NC again. UCONN always has great players, but other teams recently have had more of them in the right places. I like where they are now and if healthy they will be scary good.
LSU's entire starting lineup could have been asleep to beat some of the teams that they played last season......I haven't checked next year's schedule but don't be surprised if somebody pushes them out of the number one spot during the season for that very reason....

You’ve opened up a Pandora’s box of questions.

Why do the players have stars on the backs of their uniforms? Do the stars have to be earned, and if so, how does each player earn a star on the back of her uniform? Does each player have to pass a shape-shifting test in front of Geno to get a star? What if they are humans posing as stars? :p

I think Sun has a star bias

If your willing I'll take "she will" star and you take "she won't" star. How about it? How much?

Last year SCar.'s two point guards were both coming off season-ending injuries from 2021/22. Not one pundit or poster (other than myself) thought there was any uncertainty in their return to top form.

LSU will have 2 or even three new starters none of whom have played one minute for LSU. I can't find one national publication that doubts that they will meld into the lineup seamessly. In fact the national experts think they have a super team despite never playing one minute together.

There are very few guarantees in life but we still make decisions based on probability. I don't know if the world will end at midnight. No one does. But I'm still making my mortgage payment this month.

Nan, not sure if your question is lighthearted or serious? Of course, I know where I am. I am not that old, yet!! But I don’t think the board is limited to people who all share the same opinions. Some people dislike my opions and vice versa. C’est la vie! Isn’t that what makes the board fun and interesting! We are talking about sports. I don’t lose any sleep about what I post or read on the board, and I hope no one else does either.

hard to defend one when a national pandemic occurs
? The argument for that year was whether SC, favored by the polls, or Oregon, favored by all the metrics, was the better team. For the record the team that beat UConn most convincingly, on our own court, was Oregon, not SC or Baylor.

Yet even if Baylor was considered one of the two best that year, Mulkey could not repeat with Griner and Sims on the roster, I certainly would not favor her to repeat in the pandemic year … or this one.

In fact, if you live near Connecticut I will wager you a large pizza that LSU does not repeat this year.

I'm not the one that has a star bias because I didn't differentiate the players based on their star quality.
It's a lot like the US flag when President James Monroe signed a law in 1818 that specified a new star to be added on July 4 of any year after a new state was added (& specifying 13 stripes).
Every state gets a star.

I was serious. We like our players more than any other team’s and we don’t have to justify it. We don’t need to be objective here, either. Fans of other teams need to be more circumspect on the UConn-only side

Don't poke the Huskies. They travel in packs and attack vulnerable and accessible body parts.

Nan, you and Kaizen are misreading the context of SEblueblood's post. S/he was responding to a post by Dezoworld in which the latter said "Not only our stars but Azzi and Caroline missed many games". It this appears that in DZW's opinion "our two stars" does not include Azzi and Caroline. So SEblueblood is simply inquiring of DZW, "if Azzi and Caroline are not stars, who besides Paige is." It seems to me that you have misdirected your fire. Perhaps SEblueblood has a track record of not appreciating that s/he is on a UCONN fan board. I wouldn't know one way or the other. However, this post is completely inoffensive, and poses a question that also occurred to me, a diehard Husky fan since the early 1990's.

Actually a lot of the uniforms through the years by Nike included a star for every National Championship.
