I would much rather have Tafara Gapare as a 2022 reclass instead of Jaret ValenciaOuch, that was a good get for DePaul and only a little over a month ago. Local kid in that he’s at South Kent … would be a nice follow up to Sanogo. There was talk of him reclassing to 2022 though, I wonder if one of those other schools is looking for more immediate needs?
I don’t to sound picky, but I 100% agree with you.I would much rather have Tafara Gapare as a 2022 reclass instead of Jaret Valencia
Much higher upside IMO
I'm of a mind that they don't decommit until something else is already lined up.Is this a case where his destination is probably already settled, or do we think his recruitment is legitimately open again?

Is it a realistic thing to hope for...?Everybody should want that.
We were in his original Top 7 before he committed to DePaul last month. Is it a realistic thing to hope for...?
I'm thinking he's not making that tweet unless there was at least a whiff of smoke.I have no idea if he knows anything.
It all makes sense now why a true 2022 kid (JV) who wants to play for UConn still hasn’t committed at this point…I would much rather have Tafara Gapare as a 2022 reclass instead of Jaret Valencia

Transfer portal window closed like 2 months ago. Not gonna make a difference this yearHe seems much more of a 3/4 than a 4/5. Would he play? With the glut of wings and 4’s we have this year I’d much prefer him come 2023 to avoid a transfer.
BUT
If he were to reclass this year I’d gladly take him. But someone isn’t gonna be happy at season end( Karaban, Johnson, Gapare, Alleyne)
Not this year. I’m talking at seasons end. That’s a lot of bodies(which I’m not opposed to) and not a lot of minutes.Transfer portal window closed like 2 months ago. Not gonna make a difference this year
He seems more like a kid you play at the 4-5 as a “small” lineup. He looked like a very good shot blocker in those highlights. Not this year. I’m talking at seasons end. That’s a lot of bodies(which I’m not opposed to) and not a lot of minutes
He seems like an amazing shot blocker. But his versatility handling the ball makes him intriguing across the entire front line(3,4,5)He seems more like a kid you play at the 4-5 as a “small” lineup. He looked like a very good shot blocker in those highlights.
It’s a good problem to have. I think we have enough pure 5s that it’d be nice if he was skilled enough to play down the lineup. He seems like an amazing shot blocker. But his versatility handling the ball makes him intriguing across the entire front line(3,4,5)
