Yes.Wasn’t UNC in 98 in NC?
Not sure how 1990's location landed on this list.1990: Duke in the Meadowlands
1992: Ohio St. in Dayton
1994: Florida in Miami
1995: UCLA in Oakland
1996: Mississippi St. In Lexington, KY, where they won the SEC tournament 11 days prior
1998: UNC in Greensboro
2002: Maryland in DC
2003: Texas in San Antonio
When you lay it out like this, it looks like there might be something to it. I'm no conspiracy theorist though.
New Jersey is a home game for Duke, especially back then. Not sure how 1990's location landed on this list.
I'm pretty sure 1992 was in Cincinnati (not that Dayton is that far from Cincy).
Considering location, 1994 & 1995 were really only partials. They were on locations where our opponent didn't have a huge resident base and were a decent distance to travel for their fan bases. Point taken however.
1996 was in Indianapolis.
2002 was in Syracuse.

The luck thing is absurd. If it's so easy why doesn't Syracuse do it,I still don’t understand the “luck” claims around our natties in 11’ and 14’ they constantly talk about over there. We peaked at the right time and won most of our games very convincingly. We had the best player in each tourney and beat great teams on the way. In 14’ we beat Nova, Iowa St, Kentucky and Florida (the overall #1 and heavy favorite). That was a brutal path.
In 2011 we had to beat very good Arizona and Kentucky teams and repeat finalist Butler (coached by Brad Stevens). We also had to beat an SDSU team that was ranked #6 in the country.
I focus more on our bad luck. We lost Jerome Dyson to an Achilles when we were clearly the best team in the country in 2009. (even then, we still made the FF). We’d have gotten #6.
We also lost regional finals in NC to Duke and UNC, Maryland in Washington DC, UCLA in Oakland and some other oddities that really screwed us. We should have 6-8 titles. (The accuracy of this last paragraph wasn’t researched, going on memory)
Or literally anyone else. It's an argument with no meritThe luck thing is absurd. If it's so easy why doesn't Syracuse do it,
Nobody ever spoke about Danny Manning's miraculous run to the title as "luck". That's not how it works. The luck thing is absurd. If it's so easy why doesn't Syracuse do it,
Yeah, the "strengths" of the cultural side of Syracuse are nowhere near SU and some crappy areas are in between. Campus is meh as well. And outside those few small areas of downtown Syracuse that are decent, the spralling burbs around it don't have anything really unique, either, TBF.I went to Syracuse with my daughter who is good (not outstanding) student. We thought Syracuse was fine. Campus was fine. Town isn't great, but there's enough by the campus to be fine. She isn't going to be a communications major. We really looked at Syracuse as a state-like University. So, once she got into a couple solid public schools, we agreed to take Syracuse off the list. We're not a fan of our home state university, but when comparing Syracuse to comparably ranked public schools (like UConn), it's hard to justify $25k or so extra per year.
I found this Syracuse history (rap sheet?) just this afternoon. I guess those Hoyas hate 'em more than we do!And they love to rag on our guys for laptops...

If Hop stayed on like the succession plan dictated back in 2018, I firmly believe that UConn's massive success and resurgence would not be taking place. I thought our success was due to Coach Hurley, his staff, our great players and the legacy we have built over the last several decades. Apparently, others have a different theory.
