I do not get why they waited to foul either. Leave it to an ex- Big East team to beat an SEC team. I guess we'll know more later today and tomorrow, but is it possible the SEC was overrated.
possible ?? possible?? of course not..... :D

So did Syracuse just pull off the biggest tournament upset since Louisville beat Baylor? Not that tonight's upset is anywhere near the magnitude that Louisville's win was, obviously, but I can't recall offhand one this large happening since then.

For whatever it's worth, FiveThirtyEight's projected probability of UConn winning the tournament just went up from 74% at the beginning of today to 76% now.

Lol, y'all gotta let A'ja Wilson go. She made the decision for her. Let it go.

Just rejoice in our lost tonight like expected.

Good game by Syracuse. Coach Q called a good game. I like those guards. Wish we had some.
If SC had anyone that could shoot from outside they win by double digits. Syracuse wasn't guarding past 12'.

Imagine if ND is eliminated tonight. Unlikely, but that number would skyrocket.

You right - she made the best choice for herself. We should all let it go.

Now Dawn needs to get some better guards. Her philosophy of pound it down low is not enough to garner a national championship. She needs a more diverse offense.

It's a big upset to be sure, but not earth shattering. SC has played a lot of close games this year, so there was always the possibility that one slipped away.

I said Sykes was missing last year, and she is starting to get back to where she was before the 2 ACL injuries, Dawn needed to adjust to Syracuse using 4 guards, and didn't.

I noticed the last two games for SC, not one 3 seconds call. Especially in the k state game, it was blatant.. any one else notice?

The problem is SEC teams plan, recruit, and strategize for other SEC teams. I guess they don't realize once you get into the tourney you will face non-SEC teams that have a different take on the game. Every team in that league is the same: they all just want to "play defense" and let the offense consist of throwing the ball down low and hoping for the best. Until the teams in the SEC realize it's not 1985 anymore, none of them will win a championship because modern teams can put up 80 points like it's nothing, and as Geno said, if you've got great players that know how to put the ball in the hoop, it doesn't matter how good of a defense you throw at them, they're going to get theirs.

SC had been my pick for preseason #1 next year. But I'll have to revise after this.
I'm going out on a limb here, but gun to head my pre-season top 6 for next season: ND, Louisville, Ohio State, Baylor, UConn, South Carolina.

Agreed. If that was the best decision for her, then I think we should wish her well (except when she plays against us, I guess) and so be it. I understand the temptation at a time like this to bring up the fact that she could have come to Storrs instead, but I think UConn has had enough success as a program that we as fans shouldn't feel the need to pile on when our former recruiting targets get knocked out of the tournament. It's all in good fun, I know, but I think we can be bigger that that. Just my opinion.

I would say that Washington beating Maryland at College Park was a bigger upset than Syracuse over SC on a neutral court.

Man, between the injury to Cait Craft and the Syracuse win, are the stars aligning for Tennessee or what?

Not gameplay related, but I see Alisha Gray and Kaela Davis on the South Carolina bench. I thought transfer weren't allowed to travel with them team or sit on the bench? Is that incorrect? or are the rules different for NCAA's?
bad luck charms

She HAS too.

Man Osahor (UW) is a big girl. She just chucks up 3s like the ball weighs nothing.

Impressive for sure. But if they ever got to play UConn, how would she stay with Stewie or shoot over her. She'd be worn out. Stewie can guard and score all over the floor, most big kids can't do that. Still kind of fun to watch. How can you not like those other Huskies.
