You guys and your arbitrary criteria are hilarious. As if anyone really cares whether you lost in the S16 or E8 (it makes for some nice message board smack though, so there's that). If we got to play Ga Tech or Butler instead of Indiana and Kentucky in 87/96 I guess everyone would forget about March failures that every good program endures just like everyone forgets San Diego, NC St & George Mason.

You did play Butler. You lost to them in the Sweet 16 in 2010 when you were a 1 seed.

Right, but I think the point is Cuse just has a lot more to forget than UConn...ENDURE!!

Well that's kinda my point - we really don't. Every good program from UNC to Duke to UCLA to Uconn has a Vermont and a Marquette (maybe not a Richmond but whatever). Texas A&M was a pick 'em in Vegas - everyone knew that '06 team kinda stunk.

5seed, 1 basket from winning a Nat'l title playing said 1seed without a key player = 9 seed who had to beat VCU in the F4. Yah same thing.

are you serious? lol! do you think the way uconn was playing in the 2004 tourney there was a team that was going to beat them? i remember alot of the media coining that tourney "the uconn invitational". they werent losing that year. as far as butler someone already explained how the orange caught a smackdown in `10. i like how you omitted the duke 99 team. one of the best teams of the last 30 years. go away now.

Dude, you just got owned by a chick. It's time for bed. Sleep it off champ

it will be comical when Bohiems only NC is vacated because he ignored Cmelo's failed drug tests.

Oh, well that's different then. Thought she was a dude. If it was a chick then you're right, such an unpredictable response is embarrassing. Good point chief.

...anyone who talks about how UCON had it "'easy" in 2004 by playing a #3 seed in GT in the finals has no clue. We were a 2 seed and beat overall #1 Dook in the semis. That was the true title game.

you guys act like somehow this thing is over. i'm only 35 there is like 50 years left of this thing. it's 3-1 now but i've overcome bigger deficits. this rivalry is not over by a long shot.

Thats not a bad point and one I can respect but unfortunately it seems that this is nearing the end of our great rivalry unless we find a way into the ACC.

Just tell your buddy that his lame excuses are never going to go over well.

It really is impressive that you can characterize Butler's squad last year as the team that just beat the Cinderella VCU squad, without mentioning that they knocked off the 1,2, and 4 seeds in their bracket.

Richmond.....Vermont....

Have a good night....

All I know is that in no season Syracuse has won the regular season and BET.
They have never held both titles.

They never will.

I support 2 teams.

UConn

And whoever beats Syracuse.

and for the record, no one cares who had it easy or hard en route to a NC. UCONN has 3. last year's NC was not an exhibition in style points, but the only people who care are those who try to "lessen" the quality of the NC.

beating VCU in a NC game by a 20-19 score gives you the same trophy as beating Duke in the sweet 16, UNC in the elite 8, Kentucky in the final 4, and Kansas in the NC game. so any idiot fan can go on and on about how any of our 3 NC's mean "less" as they were easy, and i say they can go **** themselves. we got 3 and history won't care how we won them. all they will remember is we got 3.

you guys are hilariously predictable.

Enjoy the ACC and dealing with those a Puke fans every year. I guess they would call that getting just what you deserve!!! Oh, and try to get a game or two in The Dance if you can.

GO HUSKIES!!! TIME TO GO DANCIN'

This is hilarious, still trying to figure out why Cuse fans are on our board trying to defend their suckiness in past tournaments. They are a #1 seed, shouldn't they be on their own board talking about trying to win it all this year, the pressure is getting to them.

I think you nailed it. A lot of nervous energy emanating from that fan base, but you can't really blame them -- anything less than a Final Four will be seen as a crushing disappointment, yet this week they looked exactly like early exit fodder.

San Diego our PG tore his ACL in the first half. NC State we had two guards suffer life-threatening illnesses. George Mason was bad - that was when we paid the karma piper for our two titles.

Last year, though, was just unreal. Think about the fact that we had our first title against a hated rival to ruin their dream season and then a third title that was just a Magic Carpet Ride for a month. Those are two of the greatest experiences you can have as a sports fan (the championship out of nowhere, and knocking off the invincible powerhouse you hate). Then there was another title on top of that when we just got to steamroll everybody - except for our two heated rivals (Pitt at the time, and Duke), who we got the pleasure of tormenting with gut-wrenching comeback losses that still eat at their fan bases to this day.

Way back when, March was torture with near-misses for us. Now? I wouldn't trade our postseason experiences for any other program out there. Even UCLA.

I'm really glad that this thread didn't come up when cinci was up 17... with recent history every time a team we want to lose has a thread posted about how they're losing very early on they come back and win
