Ahhh, well. So close.

that was a gut punch. UConn just needed to make the 1-2 plays to close this out and they couldn't.

1) Fagnano missing the wide open TE on the first drive
2) Mills dropping the INT at the end of the first half
3) Honig dropping that ball where he would have had a 15 yard gain and chew up at least 3 more minutes
4) 4th and 4 and giving up a big play 50 yard plus TD pass. Even a first down would have forced Syracuse to use more clock, probably at least 2 minutes.

Any one of these plays goes UConn's way they win. But players have to make the basic plays and know how to win. It sounds cliche, but there is truth behind it.

@temery I still can't post in the game chat for some reason.

I was glad to see Neider get a TD pass, doing Milford proud!!

That said, the defense blew the game. Had a lead and couldn't hang on for the final 6 min. A win would've been frellin' fantastic, but as usual the all cretins crew refs gotta go blind against our opponents. Dammit, we were so close to 2-0.

What a shame. D played lights out for 55 minutes, then it all fell apart. Just a brutal loss.

Gotta put it behind them and get ready for Delaware next week.
Correct. The players cannot, let this carry over to next week.

Honestly impressive we lost that game. That was some scared coaching right there. I also hope we stop babying Fagnano. He is too inconsistent.
If he's inconsistent... why would you want to "turn him loose"

Overall, great game. We looked very good at times, and the drive for the final field goal was excellent (Bell is amazing). The two issues I saw were 1) we stopped playing to win when we thought we had it in the bag. Run run run punt is never going to win a game. The OC really really really messed up, and 2) Joe and the receivers were not in sync a lot of the time. Joe had some bad throws, and there were a few easy drops.

Anyway, my heart is broken but my faith in the future is strong. We will beat at least one of the ACC teams this year.
