that was a gut punch. UConn just needed to make the 1-2 plays to close this out and they couldn't.
1) Fagnano missing the wide open TE on the first drive
2) Mills dropping the INT at the end of the first half
3) Honig dropping that ball where he would have had a 15 yard gain and chew up at least 3 more minutes
4) 4th and 4 and giving up a big play 50 yard plus TD pass. Even a first down would have forced Syracuse to use more clock, probably at least 2 minutes.
Any one of these plays goes UConn's way they win. But players have to make the basic plays and know how to win. It sounds cliche, but there is truth behind it.
