I bought a new iPad because my old one was on its last legs. How difficult is it to sync the new iPad so it's basically the same as the old iPad?

I just bought a new iPad. The on-screen instructions said to leave both iPads near each other and they synced automatically. Took about 20 minutes to set up

Your lucky your old one broke, Temery.

I don’t think Apple did enough to promote how good this new M4 chip is in the IPad and Laptops.

I use mine much more than most and it‘s been a lifesaver.

Enjoy the new SPEED :)

But at least now you’re fluent in Portuguese.

They put the M4 in an iPad? Got my daughter an M3 Macbook and that thing flies. Checked and it is just the Pro. The Air has an M2, which is still ridiculously overpowered for an iPad.

They did and it rocks.

I guess it depends on what you use if for - everything works much faster / more reliable.

In the laptop, I’d argue it was 100% necessary.

The old Microsoft chip lead to sluggish performance IMO.

LOL.

I knew the Apple fanboi's would show up. You guys never disappoint.

Can never take a pass from glazing Apple and slogging everything else. Even when the thing you are slogging doesn't exist.

"Microsoft Chip"

Didn’t see this as a sensitive topic but here you go :)

Microsoft aligned Intel was making chip for Apple computers until M4 2024/5. I don’t blame Intel but why send the best to Apple to complete w/ Microsoft.

W/ M4 apple making own chips and it now rivals Window based laptops for speed.

I say this as someone who up to this point thought Windows based laptops were better.

They are not w the new M4 IMO.

The first Apple Silicon was the M1. It was introduced in November 2020. Yes, it was considered very good.

The old A17, A18 etc. Apple Bionic chips powering iPads and iPhones were made by Taiwan Semiconductor, not Intel. The Macs did use Intel for a time, until the M1 came out. But had a range of chip makers like Power PC and Motorola before that.

Main thing the M chips have going for them vs Intel (a) much better battery life and (b) reduced need for RAM/DIMMs. Snapdragon is also really good on battery life and those are going into Windows PCs now, but app compatibility is an issue with the departure from X86 architecture.

Thanks for setting record straight! :)

IMO M4 is next level and puts apple on part speed wise where they need to be.

I bought a new iPad cause my old one was crapping out. Turns out it was the Internet connection. Charter sucks.

'Took me longer. I selected the wrong language then couldn't understand the instructions.
Just buy Babel and learn the new language. Keep it simple!

Not too hard.. Go to SETTINGS follow. instructions. New it’s under warranty go to help desk and hathem walk you through it.

Yep, the iPad Pro does, anyway. I got the Air and am really happy with it

I have 2 of both Mac Pro / Mac Air . iPad Pro and iPAD AIR . When. Y wife passed away I “inherited” hers. So I do banking / finance on the Mac’s and Googling on the Airs. I came over from the dark side and love the Apple world. Thinking about an I watch but I have fat fingers so not sure.
