The guy in the headlock is Delaney, and they're going for his wallet.
At least Delaney got his cable boxes. Oddly enough getting into an athletic conference has little to do with, you know, actual athletic team success. Even if we suck at football, at the very least Delaney could have all but guaranteed one of his teams hoisting an NCAA tourney trophy on national TV every April.

And like clockwork . . . this is being framed negatively for UConn and our chances in realignment. On the First Team this morning (college sports radio) the message was essentially to be careful what you wish for in taking a non-competitive team, and UConn/Big 12 were mentioned specifically.

Those 2 have been anti-UConn in the B-12 from day 1. They are at least honest in why (lack of football history, geographical location). They are not very good on CR issues in general though.

USF/UCF/Cindy/Memphis would be equal disasters. Obviously all taking Rutgers, Pitt and BCU did was enable the leagues to recruit those areas leaving zero talent for them. UConn's recruiting is already about as bad as it can get, we could only go up. UConn recruits against CCSU and Sacred Heart these days.
