Don't see how the state won't allow them to offer it.

Vegas is irate with this decision. Will be interesting what happens to Vegas in 10-15 years

Will the state allow Foxwoods & Mohegan to open their own Sports Book?

The Connecticut Lottery will probably be allowed to offer sports betting as well. With 2900 retail outlets plus internet betting they'll be a big player.

CT is one of 9 states that have already cleared the path for this activity. The others I know of are NJ, Penn, Miss, WVa.
I know the NCAA will try it's best to work against and around it but at this point there is nothing they can do.
I see the CT books opening by the end of the year

Am I allowed to break up with my bookie via text or do I have to do it in person?

If they offer 5 cent lines and the legalized locations offer 10 cent lines you will still want your bookie

The black market books will adjust because in the long run the player ends up a loser

yup.

Similarly Black Market weed is flourishing in legal states because of cost.

This thread should be Attn: @whaler11

And per ESPN's Sports Betting Bill Tracker

Connecticut
In July 2017, Gov. Dannel Malloy signed a bill that will allow the state to move quickly if the federal sports betting ban is overturned by the Supreme Court or repealed by Congress. The new Connecticut law allows state officials "to regulate wagering on sporting events to the extent permitted by state and federal law." The law designates the Department of Consumer Protection to oversee any new sports betting.

Don't kick him to the curb yet. When you are seriously in the hole, who else is going to let you bet on credit?

Of course he's pro-gambling and not for legal weed. Gambling destroys so many more lives

Last year we found ourselves at a very modest sportsbook in a very modest casino in a modest New Zealand town. The book consisted of two betting terminals. I made my horse bet then I noticed a tab that said SPORT. I touched that and it turned out I could make a bet on any pro sport you could imagine. It was March so you could bet on NHL, NBA, F1 and all the Soccer leagues. For the Premiere League, you could get an odds line for the exact score on any game. Piece of cake, no muss no fuss.

I'm not sure Vegas takes a huge hit from this. More than 50% of the revenue generated by most of the hotels now is non-gaming related. How much of that is sports betting specific? I don't know but probably not a huge amount. It's not like people had to come to Vegas to gamble recently anyway. Its available everywhere and sports betting was easy to do with bookies and online. I'm guessing Vegas isn't too shook up over it.

I'm keeping mine. The new options that become available could have worse vigs/lines. Also, it will be good to be able to shop lines, and more books just means more options, and being able to bet a line that works better for you is +EV. Additionally, I can bet on credit as is, and settle up 3-4 times a year, as opposed to having to deposit up front to bet. It's also going to be convenient to have a place to lay off bets if I have to, or to hedge.

I would also say the average sports better is not a scratch ticket or slot player. At least none of the ones I associate with-they are much more savvy and more likely to be financially stable. Sports betting nowadays includes data analysis, statistics, hunting and waiting for lines, etc. Sports bettors and Powerball players are not the same. Sure there are people who dust a ton on sports, but they aren't typical. Someone playing scratchies and sitting at a slot machine all day has a problem. Someone waiting, searching for, and analyzing lines and past results is more like a stock trader.
