Just heard coach Barnes regarding their game against Maryland.

She talked about being a seven seed and said the usual coach cliche about seeds don't matter. She then said on any given day any seed can be anyone.

True to a certain extent I see Maryland winning by 20.

Can't wait for Princeton and Coach Berube's game today. SO rooting for her and Princeton to advance!!

And if she does advance to the Sweet Sixteen, the next question will be where she coaches next. With that fabulous track record of winning, she has to be considered a top candidate for a top job with a power conference. So where does she go? Can't believe she will be content with winning at the Ivey League level for the rest of her coaching career....

Momentary tip as USC prepares to dismantle South Florida. I'm wondering if South Florida scores more than 50.

LOVE Dawn honoring Vivian S!!!!!!

Nope!

What we confirmed in watching USC, presumptive national champion

Depth, depth, depth

Rebounding, rebounding, rebounding

Depth, depth, depth

Zia, Zia, Zia

Depth, depth, depth

This Georgia team is very similar to the UCF teams Coach Abe had in past years. And with a couple 5th year seniors that came over to UGA from UCF with her, I'm not surprised they're keeping it this close with Iowa.

Iowa has been sloppy with the ball and UGA has been aggressive on defense and are wining the 50/50 balls, leading to a ton of offensive rebounds and 2nd and 3rd chance points. Iowa's 3-point shooting has kept them on top today, just barely.

I expect Clark will start trying to takeover in the 2nd half, but I don't think UGA will go away quietly. Probably a grind it out 2nd half like the game UConn had against UCF last year in the 2nd round.

Iowa has been sloppy because of the dawgs defense.

Best player on the floor in the first half was Battles by a wide margin.

I am surprised at the level of scoring in the first half.

Survive and advance. Probably some were picking Georgia for an upset in this game. Iowa did what they needed to against a defensive minded, physical team.

Talk about a total collapse
Georgia's last 4 possessions: TO/TO/TO/air ball
then to add to the carnage: two intentional fouls.

Georgia deserved better, they played Iowa tough all game; earlier it was the Hawkeyes that were throwing away the ball.

I admire Katie Abrahamson's game composure...
Keeps her cool, composed throughout.
Good on her.
Tough loss, her team lost any sense of composure
at the end.

Totally agree with this. Iowa was lucky to escape.

Can we please see an upset today?

SDSU is getting killed right now. Hopefully they rally back.

Survive and advance as Notre Dame survives Mississippi State and itself, 53-48.

The best part of the Irish victory (or survival) was Lauren Ebo had 18 rebounds, 10 points and 5 blocks. Maddy Westbeld scored 9 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had 3 steals.

Mississippi State's outside shooting disappeared from the previous game, going 3-20 and not hitting one until the 4th quarter.

The Irish blew an 11 pt lead, but pulled away at the end primarily because Sonia Citron -- who couldn't hit a shot from the field (well, two) -- went 10-14 from the FT line.

So, Irish will make the Sweet 16. My gift to Boneyarders: Don't watch this tape. It will set you back. ;)
(But we won! Go Irish! :D)

The last 5 minutes of the first quarter in kitties versus Maryland game look like a pickup game after St Patrick's Day drinking!

It was like two clown cars collided and people are wondering around looking for their keys.

Hard to believe this Maryland team beat the Huskies.

Hard to believe the kitties beat anybody.

Sure looks like the kitties Martinez would like T.

I think Virginia Tech got tired of hearing they weren't suppose to be a 1 seed, demolishing sd st
SDSU trying to claw their way back in. Still a whole quarter left to play.

If I'm Maryland, I don't EVER want to play a Pac 12 team in the Tourney. Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Stanford have all ended their season in the the last half dozen years or so.

No way to treat Brenda, a kittie alum

I hope she’s just marking time til a certain job opening appears. I think she, Shea, and (once I would have said Banghart but she may be satisfied with NC) are imo, the odds on favorites to succeed Geno. My preference order would be Shea first, Berube second but I would be happy with either. Of course, hopefully that will be at least five to ten years and 4-6 championships from now!

South Dakota St. did a nice job of battling back, but too big of a deficit to overcome.

Amoore hit some huge shots, but she also missed a ton. I thought she really hurt VT with her shot selection in the 2nd half. Also SDSU was swarming Kitley, but they did a poor job of trying to get the ball to her. She was invisible after halftime.

after watching these 2 Vtech games yea it's safe to say they are definitely worthy of that 1 seed. Good for them, Kittley is a monster who is gonna cause chaos, her matchup vs Uconn bigs will be fun if happens.
