It should be a very good game. Having all those experienced guards will really help NC State in this game, and they've shown that they're not intimidated to play on the road.
 
For those of you history buffs...

Texas leads the series with NCState, 5-1. The teams have not met since 2003. NCState's only win against Texas was on January 10, 1981, in a 91-89 double overtime thriller.

I mean yeah, the most trouble among the teams in its region, which isn't saying much.

Other than its fine performance against Baylor, Texas hasn't really shown the quality of a Final Four team. Their win over FSU was a mutual slop-fest. And then Texas lost to Oklahoma, Iowa State, and West Virginia.

Those losses were after Lange went down, and if they get back to playing like they did in both Baylor games (second game they led until Lange went down) then they could be a then they could be a handful for any team. I don't think Aston is as good a coach as Tara but she has more horse!

I was just going to say her tone, timber and content just doesn't change in those pre-game rants. It's like nails in your ears. If you went back in time every player from 10 years ago could probably repeat word for word the same speech given today.

MD up 3-0 in the first minute of the game . WVU puts up an air ball :eek:

WVA looked so bad ESPN switched coverage to texas NC State :rolleyes:
 
Texas comes out surprisingly showing nerves. Meanwhile DePaul letting Schaefer get off two wide open 3's. MSS leads 7-5 at the first TO.
 
Wow, Taylor has picked up her 2nd foul in less than 2 minutes of play. She is Texas' best defensive player by far. Not a good start for the Longhorns.

NCST wants to work that high screen with the quickness of their guards. Texas wants to play insids out.
 
WVA's athleticism throughout the lineup is giving Maryland problems.
 
Texas seems prone to frequent brain cramps. The kids are probably too amped up
 
People talk about Martin's athleticism, but this WVA team has quickness and athleticism through all 5-7 players.
 
Lots of fouls early in NCSt-TX. Five called on TX, four on NC St in just the first 4 minutes of play. At this rate there will be lots of foul trouble.
And there's another foul on Texas, Atkins' second.

More like 5-6. They are not a deep team.
 
Refs calling lot of fouls in the NCState/Texas game. Brianna Taylor and Ariel Atkins already have 2 fouls each for the Longhorns. 4:51 left 1st quarter...12-12 game.

Jen Mathurin has taken two charges for NCState.
 
Right now Maryland and Frese are saying Uh-Oh. Maryland needs to focus inside and try to get this team in foul trouble. Work Jones to death, kick it outside to Slocum and Kimbrough.
 
Also let Martin beat you from outside not inside where she can draw fouls. Make her drive, make her work and play this team for the 4th quarter.

She reminds me of a few officers who had favorite canned speeches that would get trotted out anytime there were more than five people in the room. The dull expressions on the player's faces look familiar, too.
 
Texas on an 8-0 run to take a 20-12 lead on NCState.

Meanwhile it looks like Texas has settled down a bit leading20-12.

Lanay Montgomery has been very prone to foul trouble this year, and I fully expect Jones to eat her lunch. If MD doesn't try hard to get Jones a touch on every half-court possession, shame on them.

With both Taylor and Atkins sitting with 2 fouls, Texas' superior depth (Sutton and Underwood in particular) are really shining.

And Texas is just hitting shots.
