At CHI tomorrow. The Sun are a very small team. This is going to be tough... very tough. What are the match ups? Who will lead off against EDD? I'm guessing Kalana will take the first shot at it and she might be very up for the challenge for a variety of reasons. As she would have been at UConn, EDD is a match-up nightmare when she has a good supporting cast. It will be interesting to see what Coach D comes up with.

Guessing Griffin will be guarding (or attempting to guard) EDD for a good part of the evening....

The Sun are small on the frontline, but the upside is that the Sun have a lot more to throw at Prince than Phoenix. As good as EDD was, Prince was arguably the bigger factor against Phoenix.

Maybe Griffin starts on EDD, but I would leave her on Cash. Griffin's strength is help defense, which is better served guarding Cash than being attached to EDD. Probably put Hightower on EDD because of Hightower's length and Greene on Prince to start, although those could get flipped. And do your best not to get isolated on EDD in the post. and get in her space on the perimeter. They may give up size, but they're not going to make it as easy on her as Phoenix did.

Kelly guards EDD for most of the last 1:40 of the half. I would like to see more of that in the 2nd half.

EDD leads all scorers with 15 at the half... 4-6 from the field (1-2 from three) and 6-6 from the line...

Well I guessed right on the defenses matchups and their success guarding the Sky was about what I expected. Tina couldn't make a shot tonight, and Tina need to be efficient for the Sun to win this game. Should be an interesting game tomorrow night.

Fowles is a load for TC, at both ends. I don't anticipate Griner having the struggles against Tina that others here do.

I hope Renee is OK. Unfortunately, it didn't look good.

Can we at least be happy that Swin is happy? (6pts. 7 boards)

While perusing through box scores, noticeably a number of teams have seriously injured players on their rosters? Can they not be replaced? Why keep unusable players on an active roster?

Um... did anyone notice there were no announcers for the game? I actually enjoyed it - just the crowd noise, like being right there in the arena. You could almost hear the public address system. I'd like to see that more often.

Also, I'm not liking the new defensive 3-second rule. It opens up the paint, allowing layup after layup after layup. Who wants to watch a game of constant layups?

Sylvia Fowles, 24 and 22 matched up against the reigning league MVP. That is getting it done.

There are, obviously, issues that the Sun are going to have to address if they expect to challenge for the championship. Issues that were not resolved with the draft. It is doubtful that it could have been addressed without the first two picks, but still...

Chicago probably would have chosen EDD regardless of their draft order. She appears to be a perfect fit for this team. One has to like Chicago's chances. Imagine a team so good that Swin Cash is your fifth option.

It means that teams have to adjust and play better defense. While not at all sure what it means from a fan's perspective having to watch a game of constant layups, one has to believe the inside players appreciate the freedom the new rules affords them.
