In Italy she is finishing high school: there is a final exam to do. Normally written exams around 20th of june and oral exam the first days of july.

If that's really her schedule then yeah we won't be seeing her until October when the season officially starts.

Why not? UConn's 2nd summer session starts on July 14. The schedule would be tight but she could be here by then. And there certainly shouldn't be any problem for her to be on campus by beginning of fall semester (starts last week of August IIRC).

The players aren't typically here for the second session. If they are it's usually for injury treatment or rehab. That's when they take their actual summer break.
