Really Warde should do 3 things:
A. Admit this scheduling was a bad mistake that won't happen again.
B. Reassign whoever agreed to put the Furman game here to handling scheduling the deliveries of towels to various locker rooms.
C. Issue an edict that there will be no home games on Saturdays when football is home in the future. The same should apply to games in Boston and New York, too.

They are practically giving away tickets at this point. If the Rent crowd is poor, and it looks like it will be, then that is 100% on the fanbase.

Attention UConn Students: $10 tickets for you and friends/family with an ID. SENIORS ARE FREE!

When I was in Pensacola, FL, the independent minor league baseball team had dollar beer nights on Wednesdays and then $9.99 all you could eat (burgers/hotdogs) and drink on Fridays, from 5 - 7 in the left field stands

The odd thing is that the only possibility that I would do both games in a weekend is to have them stacked the way they are now. Much easier to decide to not tailgate and just hit both games. Wouldn't even think about going on Friday or Sunday after making a day of it for football on Saturday.

Yeah, 'cause I mean we're just some filler program that the sponsors wouldn't want in their tournament. They probably would just take one of the other 4 time national champions to replace us if we said we want to play Friday night instead of Saturday like, oh most of the field...

So Michigan has a home game with Penn State on Saturday. I wonder how they managed to avoid a conflict and got to play another night. Why I bet they said "sure, we'll play in your little tournament but we won't schedule it against our home football game.

In my estimation, the only fans this really affects are students who have tickets to both events and no mode of transportation. How big is that population?

There will be about 90 minutes between the final buzzer and kick-off and even with traffic, it shouldn't take much more than 45 minutes to get from Storrs to East Hartford. So, the amount of complaining is no where near proportional to how big of a "problem" this really is.

It's not like Maryland 2013 when the basketball team played in Brooklyn and just before the football game in East Hartford. There was no possibility to be at both games, adult or student. This is absolutely doable with little to no imagination.

Oh. So how did Michigan manage to play a mid-week game to avoid the conflict? And please, I'm begging you don't tell me Furman had to travel. Guess what? They could have played here Thursday and gone to Charlotte, which by the way would have been cheaper since Elon, there next stop is also in North Carolina. But you keep on believing that nobody f@&ked up.

21st November Logistical issue - uh oh...

...because Michigan's designated cupcake is playing that Saturday at Cuse, who got lucky by being off that weekend. It's entirely possible UConn decided that between this conflict and the football team not getting a bye for yet another consecutive week, they chose the conflict (and in my opinion, rightly).

The majority of my travel concern was logistics, not $$$. You're saying it makes more sense to go to a game in NC on the 17th, a game in CT on the 19th, followed by a game in NC on the 21st? That's pretty taxing on the players. NC on 17th, NC on 19th, CT on 21st, followed by a long layoff (which you conveniently don't mention) is much better.

A. It's Furman
B. Michigan and Syracuse did NOT "get lucky"
C. This should have been scheduled so Furman played in Connecticut first then back to Charlotte then on to Elon. The conflict simply screams small time, basketball first, jammed into a mid-major conference. It actually helps explain our current predicament. We can be basketball first. We just need to be a little bit subtle. But hey, you'd probably be happy to drop football and go to the Big East 3.0 if the Battle for Atlantis is that important to you.

I don't understand your fixation on the Battle 4 Atlantis....the Furman game has NOTHING to do with that tournament

You still haven't shared which game you are reluctantly giving up attending due to the hardship of traveling 23 miles in 90 minutes in the Year of our Lord 2015 has caused.

Answer me this pepband. Do you believe Michigan or Ohio State or Florida State or even flipping Louisville would have Ever scheduled a home basketball game that would conflict with a potentially important home football game? And do you think the Atlantis people would have said either do it or we won't invite you?

Yes, they would, because pretty much nobody else has the campus/off-campus split we have. It's 0.5 miles from Papa John's to YUM, even.

Looking back over the history of the tournament - this is the first year they've scheduled Saturdays. My guess is this came from TV.

...says the guy who, despite all evidence, hangs on to thinking UConn had really anything to do with this scheduling.
