Studio Ghibli renditions of iconic moments in UConn History

It’s a nice idea, but I’ll just never be okay with AI art, especially in this case since Miyazaki himself is so strongly against it.
I'm sure Miyazaki and his team of artists are not complaining about his increased royalty payments from all the exploding interest in his movies this viral trend created.

Studio Ghibli didn’t need AI to steal their art to promote their studio and works. They already make money by the buckets.

I love this. My one quibble is that Bobby looks concerned here whereas in the real photo, he looks turned on.
Haha…I know, there are definitely some obvious inaccuracies vs the original but it was a quick, first rendition while simultaneously pleading with my kids to get ready for bed.

There is nothing I enjoy more than people that get their panties in a bunch over AI art. As if artists are somehow the only protected class of people in all human history that dare not be replaced by technology. LOL

How about one of Hilton Armstrong taking that random 3 or maybe Phil Nolan photobombing?

I find the things that fascinate and excite today's youth, um, interesting.
Be thankful that you don’t have to learn their way of speaking including the use of emojis over text.

Speaking of which, I finally watched the 4th episode of Adolescence. Heart wrenching.

I don't understand this trend, but maybe I'm just a curmudgeon. I could either look at the actual picture, or copy pasta a picture into Chat GPT (or whatever it is) and look at an AI version of the same thing?

Pretty much! Sometimes it doesn't come across perfect and needs retouching, but usually it does. Here's an example of one that came across perfect:

Note: The Studio Ghibli anime format is just one style that is all the rage right now. You could also do styles such as Minecraft, pixel art, Simpsons, Disney, Claymation, Legos, or even Crochet dolls.

You know, it's entirely the case that some people care about more than just their bottom line. Just because some people—perhaps you?—can't imagine having principles that come in conflict with profits doesn't mean everyone is like that.

A thief believes everyone steals...

Nothing like rooting for the villains, here big tech. Did you also root for Old Man Potter in It's a Wonderful Life?

The whole business model is to steal everything we've created and then to find a way to sell it back to us. And they're going to find ways around actually compensating people they stole things from because of fear-mongering China's (FREE, OPEN-SOURCED) AI.

To be clear: tech is neither good nor bad. AI is coming and can be a real net positive. Cheering it putting people out of jobs? Meh, not something for me. Supporting companies that are openly stealing and trying to profit off of it? Yeah, I guess the rich are the only protected class and we have enough naive poors (on a relative scale) perfectly happy to watch their neighbors suffer.
