I was in 114 and the SJU fans around me said they were ticket holders. The family in front of me said they were not missing this game after stinking for so many years.

I'm curious, are the 100s at PBA all season ticket holders?

No biggie though.

(1) They made it a friday night game
(2) St. John's sold more season tickets this year thus locking up more seats
(3) they have their own SJU Ticketmaster app to sell to their own fans and made it difficult to buy tickets (at face-value) in the open market

I, myself, had a SJU friend get me a ticket through their market place.

But no need to panic. We don't have to own MSG every time. It's their home after all... and the fans wasn't the reason UConn lost anyway.

Time to move on. Get 'em back at Hartford in two weeks!!!

Yer prolly right. I’m still in a cloudy haze after getting back from msg bus trip at 3:30 am. lol. I thought a couple people were saying it was the usual UConn representation at msg. All points well taken , just a little weird considering in all the games at msg over the years , that was the smallest I saw the UConn crowd. Just kinda surprised cuz it was a monster game, Friday night. NYC , Super Bowl weekend etc… thought we wud rep at least a Little better St johns fans were real punks after the game tho.

Just because UConn fans have been able to pack MSG in the previous years before last season because SJU was't good. We're not used to what happened last night.

If I remember correctly he was born sometime in the 1400s so he’s probably got another 600 or so years in him at least. P4 job is not out of the question.

When St John's sells more season tickets and those fans show for a big game, like we would, they're going to fill the lower bowl. Our fans bought the tickets that were available to them, the upper bowl. For our home games, we even fill the upper bowl

It was a home game for a ranked team people, and a fan base that's desperate to be relevant again. They brought it

Now, if we meet in the BET, that will be the test. Their season ticket holders won't have any more tickets than ours. And the rest will be up for grabs on the secondary markets

Exactly !

I think back to the 1999 BET final vs SJU and still cant believe it was like 80% UConn fans in that game, or maybe even 85%. I dont think it would like that in 2026 though.

Who has the most rabid fanbase, Kentucky? If we hosted Kentucky in Hartford, how many tickets were their fans buy , 5%?
 
I was there …. lower bowl was 70-30 SJU but the red i saw in the upper seemed to be about 30% of the crowd.

Electric environment ! Tickets were pricey and getting into the city was brutal. I had a dinner in new canaan with a client that ended at 615. Had a car pick me up (gotta do what you gotta do). After a couple cocktails, a long day that started at 345 am, i fell asleep in the car . When I woke up, the city was on my right and i was on the whitestone - uber driver said west side hwy, CCP and West Side were disasters. Getting crosstown was a nightmare with all the snow/ garbage . Didn’t get to garden until 810… that’s about 40 miles in 2 hours.

Even with the loss - still well worth it.

Not often a top 3 in conference rival heads to MSG. Basically us or in recent past Marquette or Creighton depending on when but NY/CT is a border that means close rivalry.

St. John's fans are delusional though:

1. A few light, almost uncallable fouls on us, and some of them wanted a flagrant.
2. When Braylon tripped on the court so the ball went OOB, one fan wanted deliberate delay of game
3. When Demary had a free throw late in the second half their guy was 2 ft in the lane before he shot - no call so some grumbles from UConn fans (as we were called for a lane violation in the first half) for equality - were met with "no violation! he was behind the line!"

I get UConn fans can be rough, but we see what we see.

That’s ridiculous. This was a St. John’s home game. They have season season ticket holders and obviously otherwise bought tickets early for this game. If you want to criticize the UCONN turnout compare it to the turnout at a Providence game at the Dunc.
It wasn’t the BET or a neutral site game
