How we know if some of our new posters are not AI themselves ?
I assume you are banning bad April fools posts too as I’m sure that someone must have tried something by now
I care more about the fake AI news getting posted than someone posting a silly generated photo or meme, those don't generate false info.
I hate AI, so no complaints from me. Just curious though, does it pose a security risk or something?
As an example, I'm pretty sure the photo someone posted after the Furman game with a bear stepping on a Furman Paladin was AI generated. Just curious what harm something like that does.
In the context of the Boneyard? Which is what we're talking about here. You don't Internet much, do you. A large percentage of memes generate false info.
Just curious what harm something like that does.

AI data centers are already destroying communities and it only projects to get worse. Needs to be banned at the federal level.
I’m still not 100% sure The Shot wasn’t AI
Like pornography and artI can't define what's objectionable, but I know it when I see it.
and ugly uniforms.Like pornography and art
Drive around where I live and you'll see plenty of signage stating "No AI data centers here!" So I get it. Agree completely about it needing to be banned. Was just curious if there was more to this that I was missingAI data centers are already destroying communities and it only projects to get worse. Needs to be banned at the federal level.
That was art! (Says the man who posted that…)As an example, I'm pretty sure the photo someone posted after the Furman game with a bear stepping on a Furman Paladin was AI generated. Just curious what harm something like that does.
I get that a lot of AI-generated content is and cringeworthy, but so is banning all content purely on the grounds of how it was created.AI data centers are already destroying communities and it only projects to get worse. Needs to be banned at the federal level.
I get that 90% of AI generated content is and cringeworthy, but so is banning all content purely on the grounds of how it was created.
If you're going to advocate for people using their brains, maybe you should start with using yours.
Fair point!ALL was too strong of a reply. e.g - An image of cocaine bear fighting a shark isn't ever gonna be confused with something that's real.
But I am going to stick with, "I can't define what's objectionable, but I know it when I see it."
On this board, if a post sounds intelligent, it can't be a real person.I get your point though. My rule of thumb is if a post sounds intelligent, I'm gonna check to see if it's AI.
Yeah, if it's obviously not real, it's not that objectionable either. It's the stuff that takes people's likenesses and voices and inserts fake words into their mouth or shows them doing made-up and controversial things that I really find troubling, or that spreads misinformation and inaccurate slop in a convincing way.ALL was too strong of a reply. e.g - An image of cocaine bear fighting a shark isn't ever gonna be confused with something that's real.
