No, reread the article, in particular the following, "Stokes transferred to Memphis Southwind from Central High last summer, but was ruled athletically ineligible at Southwind by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association because of transfer rules.

My bad I flew through the article at work. I bet he would be ruled academically ineligible as well for being dumb enough to transfer to a school he couldn't even play basketball for.

Just like Amir Garrett going to a school that didn't even have a baseball team when he was a much better baseball prospect than basketball.

Article also mentions that he might get an academic scholarship (not sure if that is the same as financial aid), but as far I can tell, those are pretty difficult to come by. Hope people aren't giving academic scholarships to basketball players to skirt the rules around athletic scholarships.
