I followed the suggestions to watch the SNY broadcast thru the foxsports app. I can get the games to star streaming but at random points the broadcast stops and I get the screen message “we’re sorry, program not available for streaming”. Makes no sense, I was just watching it. Almost like there’s a timer that stops the stream after a certain point. Have submitted a “trouble ticket” to their technical support team but I have very low expectations of actually getting a solution.

Do you have a normal provider that has Fox sports in your channel lineup? If so you may have to be logged in with them while in the Fox sports app. If not then it only gives you a preview for period of time.

I had a couple of glitches and frozen screens, but never lost the game.
Who is your tv provider?
Were you logged into the app?
Are you located in the SNY market but your provider no longer carries SNY?

I guess my point is that I live out of market and was able to stream the game using the Fox Sports App.

If you don’t have Fox Sports on your regular cable box then all you can get is a free “preview period” on the app but not the entire game. The app should ask you to log in and enter a code that comes from your cable provider

Do you have a “live” streaming service like Hulu Live and are you linked up with it with the code that connects the Fox Sports App to the service?

If you have a "smart" TV you can buy a ROKU thingy (firestick???) at walmart for like $35 more or less and that will enable you to get the Fox Sports app and that will probably solve your problems. You can get 100s of other free apps as well with that one little device. You might have to have wifi in ur home too.
I just went ahead and bought the ROKU TV but I heard the device works as well.

Some people still don’t realize they must get Fox Sports from their cable provider regardless of the device people choose to use. It doesn’t matter if you buy a fire stick or a Roku - if you don’t get Fox Sports with your regular cable channels, you won’t be able to get the game on the device.

My TV provider carries FS1, so I get to log into Foxsports.com. When I do, it gives me a message that I'm all set, and to enjoy the show. But it never lets me see SNY, just a grayed-out window. So I log out and watch the preview pass version until halftime. Then I close out my browser and wait for the start of the second half. Then I open and go to Foxsports again, and get a fresh preview clock so I can watch the second half.

You get what you pay for.

I just got off the phone with youtubeTV support. They're saying that because they don't have a contract with SNY, I can't watch the game. As a couple of people have noted, what I'm likely seeing is a preview, so I'll try the logoff at halftime thing and see if that works for me

What do you mean by "Fox Sports?" Are you referring to the local Fox station and FS1?
I don't have a cable provider, I stream everything I watch, so I don't have "Fox Sports" as a channel.
My tv provider is Hulu Live (and previously YouTubeTV with no issues) and I receive my local Fox station, FS1 and FS2. I have had no problem using the Fox Sports App on a Roku, Amazon Firestick or Xbox Series S to watch the SNY games.

I apologize, I guess that I have been oblivious to the fact that YouTube TV dropped SNY as an available channel, even in the SNY market. This could certainly be the problem. I was also under the mistaken impression that if a fan that lived outside of the SNY market BUT received the local Fox station and FS1, that you would be able to watch the games. But I guess when you login to the Fox Sports App with your YouTubeTV credentials, they block the SNY games. This is covered in a sub thread of the The Official How To Get SNY tech help thread thread.
I'm really, really sorry for all the information I have falsely provided.

I realize you understand this, @Centerstream. But for the benefit of others,

FS1 is a channel on your cable provider’s service. Same with FS2.
FoxSports is the streaming app you want to use to get the SNY games.
This is the key distinction to bear in mind, between a cable channel and the streaming app.

To log into FoxSports, you need to show that you subscribe to a cable service that includes FS1 and/or FS2, which is almost all cable providers at this point. As it happens, HuluLive and YouTubeTV count as cable providers. If you click the LogIn link on the FoxSports app, a screen will pop up asking you to identify your cable provider. It’s pretty easy from there.

The confusions people seem to have are as follows:
Thinking they’ll find SNY on their FS1 or FS2 channels
Thinking they can use FoxSports without logging with your cable provider’s credential.

This is a mistake. I live in Santa Fe, NM and subscribe to YouTubeTV and have no trouble signing into the FoxSports app to watch all SNY games.

I did say "I guess..." because I was not 100% convinced it was true.

I also try to always use the term "tv provider" and not "cable provider" because I watched tv long before there was cable...

I know what you mean. I was using rabbit ears until only a few years ago. I still refuse to get cable. Now it’s all streaming for me.

YouTube TV dropped SNY quite a while ago, that's why I switched to HULU Live TV. Once SNY no longer carries the games I'll find a cheaper provider.

Same here. I considered dropping Hulu live this year but not sure if there's a cheaper alternative (since I also pay for ESPN+, the bundle is nice).

Oh, the humanity! You can take all of the comments above and toss them in the Bin of Bad Ideas. One of the comments is that you get what you pay for. LOL. Nothing you can pay for will get you the SNY games if your area is blacked out. I've tried everything under the sun, including professional and spiritual intervention. My internet provider does not have access to SNY, end of story.
The good news, if any, is that most of the SNY games are from the Big Least, generally awful UConn beat-downs. Almost all of the games worth watching are carried by some network you can access. AND you can also watch all of the games once they're played, forcing you to deal with delayed gratification.
So: man up, Husky fans. Remember Mark Twain's admonition to eat a live frog first thing in the morning knowing that that is the worst thing that can happen that day.

Who is your tv provider?
Obviously there's confusion in the YouTube TV service as to whether or not the SNY games are available via the Fox Sports App. Some subscribers can't use it whereas others can.
If you want to really, really watch the SNY games, try the Hulu Live free trial when a game is scheduled and see if the Fox Sports App works. Then make a decision on which service to use from November to April.
Personally I liked YouTube TV better than Hulu Live but because my better half wanted the Disney+ bundle and some other add-ons, we have Hulu Live.
