The games they played on ESPN were not primetime.....
What else can you ask for being in the AAC? UConn gets more national programming than most power 5 teams, I for one like others are not gonna complain about the time of day.

I live in North Carolina and I was able to see about every UConn game between CBS Sports, ESPN, etc (I don't have any sports packages or anything). There might have only been a couple of our cupcake games (Coppin St. or CCSU) that might not have aired. There was never a time where one of our games were on and I couldn't find it here. I think we do just fine with exposure.

Really? I thought most games were only on SNY. I never really noticed otherwise because i had it (even though i'm in VA). I just cut my cable to the most basic so I need to make sure i can still watch my Uconn games this season! Sounds like I'll still see most of them if i can get CBS sports somehow not through a cable company.

I think ESPN has some deal where they carry all of the SNY games out of market or something. I watched the vast majority of UConn's games last year on WatchESPN.

Stop grasping at straws. Our national exposure is better than virtually every other school in the country with 5 or so exceptions. The examples in this thread prove it to be true regardless of how much some of us try to refute it.

On the Ohio State visit:
"It was good," the elder Gibbs said of the trip. "We were there Friday to Sunday, so a three day trip. We went out to dinner, saw everything there. The basic stuff [on a visit]. We went over film and looked at how they can help his percentages and all of that. They showed us the ways in which they would need him to score. Their message to us was that they need a floor general and a leader. I think he would fit in well there. It's a good school with a great atmosphere. He would do well. The coaches are good guys too. Really good guys."

On the UConn visit:
"We'll be at UConn from Wednesday until Friday morning," he said. "We're looking forward to just seeing the school. We haven't seen it yet or really talked with anyone from there. After that, I'm really not sure if we'll take any other visits. He's considering N.C. State, Iowa, Temple, and Baylor [in addition to UConn, OSU, and Pitt], so we'll just have to see. I'm not sure when he'll have a decision. I really can't say right now. We're just looking to see how he fits in at each school and which place is going to give him a great college experience this last year."

Ok so its still going according to plan. I don't expect any other visits after this week and the competition is OSU. While OSU may be a "nice place with some nice coaches" its still a football school. UConn is a basketball school with an NBA guard experienced head coach that is also really nice.

Lol, oh I bet! Commitment coming Thursday or Friday, IMO. Remaining very optimistic.

I think it's possible Sterling went through with this additional process to ensure Uconn would not be pointed out for some kind of tampering with a player still at his original school. If he goes on visits--really it would be tough to say anything. I think the bottom line is this. We have a LEGITIMATE chance to win a NC with Gibbs. The last two PGs who lead us to NC went in the lottery and pick 25 I believe. We will have a BIG time team--EVERYONE on the team will be in the spotlight no more so than Gibbs. Really the chance is unprecedented--to go from Seton Hall to a team where we can win a NC. I guarantee Pitt and OS have no chance.

Also by coming here not only does Gibbs get the opportunity to play PG, but he can also get minutes at SG playing off the ball with Adams - is that something that he can do at OSU?

We are a big time school with national TV exposure that anyone in the country can see with cable and a sports package but there are enough high profile conference match ups of schools of our quality playing each other that on any given night during the conference season, the eyeballs will be on their games not ours nationally. If we are playing say Temple at the same time Louisville is playing NC State, or OSU/Maryland, I just see those games being higher rated, talked about and promoted by the sports networks. We are not Little Sister's of the Poor by any means and our OOC games against quality opponents will be watched big time.

Why don't we just chill out with the "speculation" for a few days and just be happy later this week. Yes, obvious things are obvious.
Some of us like to open our Christmas presents in July and hope our parents don't notice!!!!

This whole thing with his dad saying no we aren't taking any more visits, and also trying to act like he hasn't been on uconns campus is funny. If he was going to OSU he would have committed there on his visit...there's no reason here not to be optimistic

That is awesome, I think i'll be all set then. Friend of mine lets me use his ESPN Watch credentials so I should be good to go!!!

Hopefully we aren't dealing with a Mr. Oriakhi situation here where he holds Sterling's "basketballs" firmly in place.

Games played - 35
Games played on SNY + ESPNU - 10 (28.5%)
Games played on ESPN, ESPN2, CBS - 18 (51.1%)
Forget those guys. We need ABC - Always Be Closing!

Well we know that's not entirely true as it was reported that he was with his younger brother Temple during his UConn visit. He has been to our campus and you can be certain that he has indeed had conversations with our staff. This quote seems to be of the politically correct nature and adds more fuel to the fire of slowing the process to avoid any NCAA suspicion

That may be true, but Matta is a beast of a recruiter. They're certainly a legitimate threat, if the football thing was a big deal they wouldn't have landed all of the 5 stars they have over the last 10 years.

That logic has never made sense to me. So basically if someone is going to commit to a place, if he doesn't do it right after his visit, it means he's not going there? I don't buy it.

I think he legitimately is torn between the two schools and wants to follow through on the UConn visit to compare. I thought UConn had the edge before the visits, but OSU has done everything they can to impress him and give him a choice.

Can anyone just walk in the new basketball training center and look around or is it restricted access?

If you are a recruit, and want tv exposure, do you go to an AAC school or do you go to a Power 5 school?

So your saying Uconn doesn't get exposed? So your saying there won't be multiple scouts at our games especially the early OOC games?
