Is gawd aweful, Mullins has no idea what he has gotten into.

Is being a former college team's great player, NBA star, and front office guy enough qualification to deserve to get St. John's head coaching job? KO sat next to an all time great as assistant on a college bench and also had a teaching role in the pros. St. John's went for a hometown hero who may or may not become a good coach but there must have been many more qualified lesser known coaches they could have gone to. Hiring Mullin seems like an act of desperation.

Does anyone under 40 even know who Chris Mullin is? Unless they play NBA Jam, how would they?

Mullins name and connections in nyc have clout. Has a good coaching staff assembled. Roster is somewhat depleted.

I think Mullins will have them in a good place in 2 years

I'm guessing with all of these St Johns threads it appears to be lost on some just how gutted Lavin left that roster.

Chris Mullin is a Hall of Famer, Dream Teamer and one of the biggest legends in the history of NYC basketball. To answer your question, yes people know who he is.

Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin rocked the 3 in NBA Jam. Can't remember who the third option was...Tisdale??

Run TMC.

Tim, Mitch and Chris. Won 50+ games every year and spit the bit in the first round of the playoffs every year. Go Warriors!

That team was really fun to watch though...

Under 40 is an extremely embellished statement. I'm 33 and Mullin is completely relevant even to me who didn't follow the NBA as a child at all. I would believe it as anyone under the age of 25 though
