I don’t think playing hard was ever an issue. Playing with confidence,
Focus and determination was, even though that sounds cliche. Thanks to St. John’s and Creighton. Needed those smack downs to get back on track.

I guess the Creighton loss was a necessary evil, if they manage to hang on and win that one I don't know if we see this uptick in intensity these past two games, especially with Tarris who looks like a new man. I was worried that AK might be cooked physically after the one and now he looks back to his old self, he was very good on both ends tonight.

Solo has also cut out the bad shots and found his floor game.

They came out with fire and were not going to get punked. They were ready to match st John's physicality the problem was(for st johns) They didn't bring that physical play(must have left it in queens) and got punked.

Karaban. He does not settle for 3’s every time and is driving much more, scoring when jammed outside. I like it.

That was a clinic! The constant movement on offense gassed them by early 2nd half. Even when the execution was not perfect, the multiple actions were tough for them to stay in front of. Everyone crashed the boards and that dedication is what is needed going forward.

If you had said before the game that we could win easily with the bench giving us less than 10 points I'd have said you were nuts. Even without scoring much they had impactful plays.

That win felt so damn good!

Our defensive switching at the arc was flawless. So different from the first game. I don't think St John's was ready for it and by the second half they had already given up. Our coaching and game planning is pretty darn good.

Ross was a quite key, his length and being active gave their shooters a lot of trouble. Love Karaban's fakes and rushes to the hoop for the deuce.

The defense was as connected as ever. Crisp switches, great help. And Reed was at the center of it all. Mobile, physical, assertive. More of that please for the next 6 weeks!

Second straight game where we’ve gotten really nice bench contributions from Ross and Smith. Our scoring off the bench is limited but both played their roles really nicely. Reibe had a real freshman big game but easy to absorb with Reed absolutely feasting.
