It's been an hour and I still can't believe our leader and potential All American candidate pulled up from 35 feet for a heat check with 25 seconds on the shot clock
I mean at least it was on line. Just a little long. He made another 3 that got wiped due to an offensive foul.

Our plan going into the game was to stop their penetration and make them shoot 3’s. We did what was drawn up, but St. John’s went off from 3 in the first half. Then on the other side the combination of McNeeley/Karaban/Ball who are our 3 main scorers shot 3/18 in the first half. That was the whole ballgame. Give St. John’s credit because they hit some tough 3’s with hands in their face. They play tough defense and get away with a lot of physicality. I don’t see St. John’s winning more than 2 games in the NCAA tournament. I usually like to root for other BE teams but they are very unlikeable to me personally.

I get so confused with the substitution patterns, Nowell plays and plays well but only spot minutes. If Mahaney plays shouldn’t he get shots, Nowell had Mahaney in the corner for an open 3 I get he is coached to get it to AK but whats the sense of Mahaney even playing at this point when he’s not even given a chance to do 1 job.
Howell did not play well. Not sure what you were watching

No depth. And the two guys that were great depth are now starters. Still curious to see how things translate against out of conference teams.

- Didn't get to see the entire game but obviously we found ourselves in too deep of a hole again to dig out of.

- Giving up 89 points is very difficult to overcome, especially against a stingy Red Storm defense.

- St. John's shot uncharacteristically well from 3, especially in the first half, but I'm sure they've been working on that aspect.

- I like how we fought to get within 8 after being down 22, which again shows despite this team's deficiencies they don't throw in the towel.

- It was great to see Karaban find his stroke from 3 again.

- Tarris (I sure wish Gus would learn how to pronounce his name right) looked good from what I saw and seemed to carry over the energy from the last game.

- Ball and especially McNeeley looked like they didn't quite have their A games, and bench production again seemed rather lackluster.

- Pitino's "Luis won't/might not play" was obviously just something to play head games.

St. John's just has more answers than we do at this time, and that's fine. Rosters change, and obviously theirs did for the better and ours, overall, didn't. Tomorrow is another day, and next season is another season. But this season is not over.

Programs go through downturns and rebuilds. St. John's basically had a two-decade downturn and at the moment it's their time to shine. All I am expecting from this Huskies team is to give 100% every time out, and that includes the coaching staff.

That was legit crazy, he thought he was Durant there. It was nice to finally see some shots go down but the rest of the game I was scratching my head as to what he was doing out there. Getting blown by on defense, fumbling the ball, not being able to inbound, standing flat footed and losing rebounds that came right to him. It's legit sad watching AK on this team. I love the kid and want him back for a fresh start next season back in the role hitting shots and making winning plays we saw his first two seasons. This is a throwaway season for him.

It’s really not an overreaction at all. This team has been a complete mess since Maui and this “great” coaching staff has done nothing to fix it. Same mistakes being made 27 games into the season. Same offensive sets that aren’t working, same MTM defense that gets constantly shredded, same lack of fire or willingness to get on the ground and get yourself dirty. We get like 10% of 50/50 balls. That tells you everything you need to know.

There is zero accountability. That’s on the coaches, no one else.
You hate the coach so it’s not surprising at all you feel this way. Please ask yourself if 2 years ago to this day you’d be happy with 2 natties and a 9 seed the next 3 seasons.

We got beat by a better team.

I would not have been so upset w/ our play if this was the 1st time we played St. John’s but it wasn’t.

They faceguard almost every player, press for better part of the game, are allowed to set moving picks with grabs w/ no fouls called??? and rebound like crazy.

We didn't adjust.

Watching Karaban get caught behind pick and be 2 steps behind on defese allowing made shot after made shot, seeing Ball 2 ft away from where he should be on D only to fall for jump fakes and to see the lack of effort on the boards was almost too much to watch today.

For those old time fans, we harken back to the UConn teams that were unranked, had less fanfare, no one going to NBA but fought "tooth and nail" to not get steam rolled like we did today.

Give me a Dan Cyrulik, a Rod Sellers, someone who is like "not today and not on my watch."

I would have been dispppointed w / a loss not matter what but waching our get manhandled by the Johnnies game me the chills....

Bring back JC to the practices if he's not there already. He would have not allowed the players on the floor to stay on the floor with some of the sleepwalking we saw today.

On a complete sidenote, first time I saw ever saw an offensive player take a hard foul on the elbow, then on the FACE, have one announcer say he was clobbered,.,,,

Only to have the other announcer circle back to say it was a "good no call."

I guess there's a first for everything... Where do they find these guys?

The youth and inexperience of the team has been showing up all season. The freshmen and sophmores and transfers got the burden of being 2 time Champs unfortunately they werent ready for the mantle. The guys that you counted on for leadership and to show them the way until they caught up have not stepped up either because they were injured or it wasn't in them. The team still plays the same way they did at the beginning on tge season there has been no growth at all.

A 1/2 seed will be "mildly annoyed" just for having to answer "what does it feel like potentially playing the 2-time defending champs in the 2nd round" questions.
UConn has to get to 2nd Rd in the first place which is far from a given.

We are not athletic enough. Not big enough at the gaurd spots. Not tough enough at the big spots. Cant dribble drive past defenders easily. And when we do we don't attack the rim. We're soft. Can't play from behind because our offensive sets take time to run. 1 serviceable pt gaurd that is hobbled and small. Brought in a 2 to be our starting pt. Surprised when he can't do it.

Not good mojo blaming refs early and proclaiming to be the best coach right now. This team is not who we thought it was nor who they thought they were.
