Yep. This team is so flawed. It lacks so much that it's hard to even coach around it. Our one playable point guard has 1 good leg. We are slow and unathletic and by the end of the game it looks worse because we are exhausted becuase we play like 6-7 players real minutes. Our bench is pretty much a non-factor. We need the portal bad for several players or next year will be an issue as well.

It's not hard to beat UConn when the other team can consistently go in for layups. Hurley should've mixed up his defense, played some zone, to keep it close.

Hurley was throughly outcoached today.

There is gonna have to be some roster overhaul if we hope to not avoid a similar fate next season. It’s becoming clear there are kids on this team who aren’t going to be able to help UConn maintain the status they’ve enjoyed for the last two seasons.

Team is flawed. No ball handlers, a bunch of shooters who can't go to the hoop and can't get their shot off. Leaning on a Freshman forward. Ross and Stewart haven't panned out. I don't blame Hurley, losing so much talent over the past two years can lead to a rebuilding year. If a 19-22 win season is a rebuilding year, I can accept it. I blame myself because I drank the Kool-Aid about 3-peat and how deap this team is. I should have known better.

Why is Stewart so timid on offense in the last couple games? Zero shots today. He has to be more aggressive on offense.

Hurley screwed up royally with roster construction. He thought a slight kid from St. Mary's who can't play point guard was going to be our starting point guard. He thought a spot up shooter (AK) was going to be our do everything leader. He thought Ross would show he's an NBA player. He never addressed not having guys who can take people off the dribble. He started the wrong center all season. We don't have the ballhandlers/creators and the team is physically weak outside of Reed.

I'm excited about our recruiting class but I'm not seeing the strength/athleticism in them. Braylon has the athleticism and quick twitch but he's pretty slight. Question marks with the other guys.

Coach needs to stop doing interviews/writing books and needs to figure this out. We were physically manhandled and Pitino ate his lunch. Pitino is just getting started there despite his age.

St. John's has an identity and they never go away from it. You can hang with them if they shoot terribly but this was a physical mismatch. We are a team with no identity this season.

Props to Pitino and St. John's, they're really friggin' good and a fun team to watch.
Kadary has been eating our lunch for the last 2 years, why would this year be any different?

This is such a ridiculous overreaction. You can’t bat .1000 or even close to it in the portal. All the best coaches do interviews and it’s good for the program when he does. You’d think the last two seasons would calm people down my goodness. We have the best coaching staff in the country
It’s really not an overreaction at all. This team has been a complete mess since Maui and this “great” coaching staff has done nothing to fix it. Same mistakes being made 27 games into the season. Same offensive sets that aren’t working, same MTM defense that gets constantly shredded, same lack of fire or willingness to get on the ground and get yourself dirty. We get like 10% of 50/50 balls. That tells you everything you need to know.

There is zero accountability. That’s on the coaches, no one else.

Bring back Nowell/Ball/Alex/Reed. Bring in a couple guard/wings with handles and size. Everyone else can come back and compete for minutes if they want, but there needs to be a talent upgrade this off season.
I agree with your sentiment but if we’re bringing back Nowell and Ball and bringing in Adams / Mullins / Furphy then idk how we can squeeze anyone else into the backcourt other than a starting PG? Regardless these are the only guys I wanna see playing a single minute next year:

Transfer / Nowell
Ball / Adams
Mullins / Furphy
Alex / Stew
Reed / Reibe

Liam looks overmatched Physically at times in this league. I wonder if there is a chance he coms back to work on getting a little quicker and better defender. Not sure he is ready for the next level yet.
No chance, he was always one and done and he's a lottery pick. He's being asked to carry way too much on this team. He had a really rough game but he's a stud and the least of our problems.

Agree about the 50/50 balls. It was 80/20 today against St. John's.

Personally, I don't think he has the green light from Hurley.

And I do believe Hurley is the type of coach to assign said "lights" to his players.

It seems all the guys except Solo are afraid to miss, cause they don't want to be taken out of the game.

Not so sure about Nowell. His dad has been tweeting some, not so positive things.

I think scouting had caught up to him. Again, he’s not a threat to blow bye you, so if you can close him out and box him out. You take away his shot and his garbage points.

I get so confused with the substitution patterns, Nowell plays and plays well but only spot minutes. If Mahaney plays shouldn’t he get shots, Nowell had Mahaney in the corner for an open 3 I get he is coached to get it to AK but whats the sense of Mahaney even playing at this point when he’s not even given a chance to do 1 job.

Stop worrying about where the room is and just get guys that can ball. No one one this team is playing well enough to be pencilled in as a starter

Well, showed a pulse in the 2nd half, Karaban's shot looked good, and didn't get Illinois'd. It is what it is.

Hopefully this stops all the "No team will want to see us on their side of the bracket" posts.
A 1/2 seed will be "mildly annoyed" just for having to answer "what does it feel like potentially playing the 2-time defending champs in the 2nd round" questions.
