This just in from the Boiler Up braintrust over at H&N on SB Nation: "I see that UConn has won 7 straight leading into the tourney. Not only is it improbable that they can win 6 more in a row, it’s statistically impossible. They needed to lose in their conference tourney to have a chance. Place your bets against the Huskies now!"

I hadn't realized UConn has never won its conference tournament and gone on to win the NCAA tournament, nor have we ever won 13 games in a row. (And certainly not this season.) The important things you learn from your big brothers of the Big 10!

We’re nobody’s little brother. The Big 10 is weak. Where is Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Wisconsin Ohio State and even Purdue this year. Color me completely unimpressed.

Something something past performance is no indicator of future results…

This is the same mindset you see in a Casino all the time when dumb chumps at the roulette wheel pile money on “Red” because “Black” has hit 4x in a row. “Red is due now…it HAS to hit!”

They're bending over backwards to convince themselves this year is different from the last few years. I honestly would feel sympathy for them, but the Purdue fans are just so reflexively dismissive of other programs whenever I encounter them out and about, and every year we're seemingly expected to forget their track record and jump on the bandwagon like mind-wiped idiots.

U had me at dumb chump and roulette

Its like saying this Purdue team can't win an opening round game based on last years performance & he based his theory on ignorance unlike mine :)

They are so wrong I'm thinking we need another word instead of brain trust.
Maybe it's just so far beyond their experience that they can't wrap their heads around the fact that winning multiple tournaments has happened many times to other programs whose knees don't lock up every single time they see their name printed on a March Madness bracket.

We used to count on them for that but go figure their excuses don’t add up whether you multiply , divide them , or raise them to a high power.

Purdue's braintrust is as unimpressive as their basketball team.

UConn doesn't have to win 13 in a row, just 6, something they have 5 times before when it mattered.

didn’t Kemba and team rip off 11 in a row to win a natty?
