A documentary about Geno and UConn wbb is being made by Skydance for Apple+ (I’ve verified this with UConn). A producer has reached out to, asking for photos, videos, memorabilia, or just memories about the early days 1980’s-1990’s. Some of you guys that don’t visit the women’s board very often may not see the post there so I’m posting this here. If you do have something the producers can use, please see the thread tacked at the top of the women’s board.

Thanks for your patience for this women’s topic posted here

Student from 1984-1988. I was not forced to go to those games. Never heard of anyone else being "forced" or even asked or coerced to attend those games. I don't recall if I went to any voluntarily. I did go to some women's soccer games, they were very good at the time.

Similarly 1989-1993 there was no forcing, but for the economics the women's tickets were much cheaper and more frequently seemed on campus than the men's team which felt more HCC if memory recalls. I posted in the women's board about a non-photo night, but I understand you need photo/video from back in the day.

From the thread title, I was expecting to see this. IYKYK.

When Geno and Chris Dailey were first hired, Chris had to teach a gym class. She required her students to go to the women’s games as part of the class
I took soccer as a one credit elective. Len T required us to go to women’s games and run lines (the people standing on the sidelines chasing the balls for throw ins).

Do you want to talk to the producers?

I went to those games voluntarily on my own. Those teams were great, and no one cared. Fewer fans by far than a high school game. But they were great, very proud of those girls.

I have a plaque with a piece of the Minneapolis Target Center floor on which UConn won the NC in 1995. It lists the scores for every game of that perfect 35-0 season and best of all its signed by Rebecca Lobo one of my favorites of all time. Would this something they are interested in?
