OT: Songs that are covers of another artist

Crazy Little Thing Called Love was written by Freddie Mercury and performed by Queen at the Live Aid Concert at Wembley.

Cover by Elvis Presley:

That’s an Elvis impersonator. He died a few years before the song was written.

The song "Can't Help Falling in Love" was originally recorded and released by Elvis Presley in 1961. It was written by Hugo Peretti, Luigi Creatore, and George David Weiss. The song appeared on Elvis Presley's album, Blue Hawaii, released the same year.

Haley Reinhart
Both Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams were on American Idol. Love this Zombies cover.

One More for My Baby - first done by Fred Astaire in a 1940's musical, this version by Charles Brown is just a killer cover:

This was very good. I think I will always lean toward the Frank Sinatra version.

And then there's Aretha's incredible cover of The Impressions original, written by the late great Curtis Mayfield

Both Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams were on American Idol. Love this Zombies cover.

Many, many very good artists have sung covers of some great songs on the various TV talent shows. I don't watch any of them live but somehow some show up on my YouTube feed. Here's on from America's Got Talent of a Queen cover

Don't really know these women, but they did a nice job on the Emmylou Harris song.

Red Dirt Girl - Sunny Sweeney and Jamie Lin Wilson

Blues Traveler did a whole album of covers a while back. But I really like their take on this one by TLC.

Waterfalls - Blues Traveler (with Train and Diasha McBride)

One of my favorite bands covering one of my favorite songs. A Warren Zevon tune.

Lawyers, Guns and Money - Red Wanting Blue

.-.
I think Steven Stills would approve. Seeing these guy in a couple weeks up in Northampton.

Love The One Your With - Bywater Call

Wish these guy lived in my backyard. Covering Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, (with a little Beatles and Slash)

Midnight Rider/Can't You See - Nick Stone and the Shifty Hunchbacks

Haley Reinhart also did an album of covers. Here’s her version of Baby It’s You, originally done by the Shirelles, covered many times since including the Beatles and most famously, Smith.

My favorite covers are "Twist & Shout" by the Beatles, "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam, "Creep" by Scala (love the original Radiohead version as well), and recently "Africa" by Weezer (liked they didn't try to do too much with the original, but for me Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt" is number one.

I am posting this cover again because in previous threads I posted that Mott the Hoople were the original artists. I was wrong, Ian Hunter was the original artist when he was a solo artist and not a member of Mott the Hoople.
Plus it's one of my top ten cruisng songs.

My, my, my
I’m one big white guy baby.
