A favorite for over half a century (Yup, gettin old!). Based on a superb poem by Antonio Machado. In Proverbios y Cantares.

Caminante no hay Camino
Caminante, son tus huellas
el camino y nada más;
Caminante, no hay camino,
se hace camino al andar.
Al andar se hace el camino,
y al volver la vista atrás
se ve la senda que nunca
se ha de volver a pisar.
Caminante no hay camino
sino estelas en la mar.

I was way late to the party, but Pandora has led me to dozens of bands I never would've known about otherwise (You Tube is good for that too).

I love the Ailyn-era Sirenia
And I thought Nightwish went thru a lot of lead vocalists. If I counted right, Sirenia is on their fifth. Yeah, it's definitely Ailyn for me. The Path to Decay is by far my favorite song from the band.

Last one tonight, I promise. This is Yusef Lateef, no idea what language. He was a pioneer of what we now call world music; he incorporated a lot of modes and instruments from Africa and Asia.

I posted something with her earlier, but it was part of a big collaborative effort. She has a bunch of stuff on you tube. It appears she plays almost every instrument known to man. She's also multi-lingual. She sings in English, Russian (her native language) and various other Slavic languages. Comments on YT indicate she is spot on w/ her pronunciations in various languages. She does a lot of covers of songs from video games.

This is said to be a Croatian folk song. Wonder if she is on Nika's playlist?

We need a map w/ pushpins to see how many countries we have represented so far.

There is a certain non-English song, I'm not a fan, it's currently got 7.5 billion views on You Tube. I think that has to be the most viewed song ever. Maybe most viewed ANYTHING. Not quite 1 view for every person on the planet yet, but I'm sure it will get there very soon (7.9 billion population according to Google).

We saw Geoffrey at the Sydney Opera House. He is blind and mostly self-taught I believe. It was a wonderful evening even without knowing anything of the Aboriginal language. Sadly I believe that he died in 2017, RIP Geoffrey.
