OT: Songs About the Night - In the Title or the Lyrics

Ah Cliff, I'd love to hear you swoon this great sultry number some night, somewhere:

"It's a quarter to three, there's no one left in here 'cept you and me"....

brucie, and how i came to him.
pops has a good tale aboot how one day in the summer long ago, his working pal sez 'we're both off this weekend, so, roadtrip! we're going somewhere in the south of Jersey to see sum band that i hear is awesome.'
off they go to some very small bar/shore joint, mebbe a 100 people or so, to see them.
'el fuego.' alltime memory for him. everybuddy goin nutz.
pops sez that glory daze tune of his is one of the most spot on songs, ever. as i grew older, i also learned it to be true. kinda sad for folks stuck with those thoughts, cuz i say 'u get a stiff neck looking backwards.'
looks like my dunking skilz are starting to fade away. whatever. i don't finger paint much these days, either. still chomp startbursts tho, so there's that.

another alltime fav of mine.
'Like my father before me
I will work the land
And like my brother above me
Who took a rebel stand
He was just 18, proud and brave
But a Yankee laid him in his grave
I swear by the mud below my feet
You can't raise a Kane back up
When he's in defeat'

an absolutely epic, horrific, and tragic event in our history.
justified, but mind numbingly brutal. death, pain, and poverty everywhere.
and then, a century later, we're still singing aboot it.
nightmare.

'In the winter of '65
We were hungry, just barely alive.'
