Since Mother's Day is upcoming this post is most appropriate. There's a lot to choose from here, but for those who have lost their mothers (or their fathers) I've selected this heartfelt song. Just substitute mother for father, and just once more.
Roy Orbison had a song, "Mama" that was pretty impressive. There was also a completely different song with the same title, "Mama" by BJ Thomas, which is an awesome tribute song to mothers in general.
Hartford’s own Sophie Tucker, coincidentally nicknamed “The Last Of thr Red Hot Mamas” but I think they meant her singing style. Family factoid, she and my grandmother were married in the same synagogue on the same day, but not to each other.
