Solo's Replacement - Paul McNeil

Would love this. County can slid back into the backup PG role. This kid is a plus shooter, has good size, and can play the 2 or the 3.

This is the guy Norlander was talking about.
I remember Norlander saying that we were bringing in another guy. Just a bit peculiar that we haven’t been linked/had any mentions from McNeil besides this postz

We have a combo in County and we can always pick up a Millender type later.
I keep hearing "Millender" type. You mean the guy who valiantly struggled against Furman (he came up big but it wasn't pretty)? The PG needs to be better than that unless County is a lock at backup PG.

.-.

Kind of a throwback shot form. Super slow, jumps really high, and kind of slings it. But the kid can shoot the leather off the ball.

Advanved stats look pretty good. Really good offensive shoooting #s (duh). Defense isn't particularly good, but neither was NC State's.

It makes sense. Shooters will create space for Silas/Landrew/Mullins to get to the rim. We need spacing.

Just curious, do you know this is the guy Norlander was talking about or just guessing?

Shoots it like Ray. Very good footwork. He'd thrive in our offense. 6'5" and some nice elevation. Would have tons of good looks given our system and his gifts.

I'm not surprised by anything with this staff - they move quietly and intentionally. They don't need to advertise what they're doing. Yet 1000 BY'ers sit here trying to guess with their roster iterations, and then surprised when they find out the next move if it doesn't align with their forecast.

Stroke reminds me a little of Ray in the first few clips and like that he’s battle tested in the ACC.

McNeil big time scorer- good athlete- would excel under Hurley’s staff coaching. Have seen McNeil play about 20 games over the last two years- real big time scorer- poor shot selection- but Hurley will harvest that.

This kid is a future pro - would be shocked if we had the $$$ to land him.
You shouldn't be, kids want to play for Hurley more than any other coach in the country. If you have NBA talent the smart kids know Hurley is the guy to make it happen for you and if you care about winning a national championship there's no better coach for you.

I believe this poster, it's too random to make up and it would make a ton of sense with the way things have gone behind the scenes.

I get it, but that was the pitch to a guy like Reibe. It's hard to be patient when you have teams flashing big $ in your face right now. I would expect McNeil is a 6th man if he were to commit and would start next season should he stick around.

Norlander said, "They'll add another notable piece here in the next week or two that'll be a bench piece, but they're not done." In the same podcast he also had Solo slated to return and start. Point is, Norlander wasn't referring to any particular player, he just was commenting that given the current roster construction we weren't finished with the portal. Anyone could have told you that. Not being a hater, I love Norlander and Eye on CBB.

Nonetheless, this is a good fit IMO. Agreed that we absolutely need scoring and shooting with this Ball news.

I would assume he takes Solo's spot as the starting 2 guard

Apologize if already posted somewhere. Re: Solo's redshirt status and impact on NIL. Will he receive a NIL package comparable to what he would get if playing? Or is it discounted(or re-configured from another NIL bucket) because of the redshirt status? If it's the latter- My guess is that Tom Moore could figure out a way to make the math work with McNeil if there's mutual interest.

We have the $$$ for multiple players.

Reibe had voices in his ear. Take a look at his agent and then look at where he ended up

If Hurley was having a hard time finding minutes for Ball, can Hurley find enough NIL and minutes for
Paul. Hurley desperately needs a decent 4/5.
Who said he was having a hard time finding minutes?

I'd like this to be true but I'd also like to see it somewhere other than the Boneyard

I don’t think we need another starter but we need another starting caliber player. Braylon at the 2 will be our best lineup. I
If this kid comes on, he's a starter.

The idea of finding a solid 4 starter at this point is a stretch.

Sure, a backup, but get ready for Khamenia filling the 4 spot for next year.
