I play club volleyball, and ASICS is still a go-to for the volleyball crowd...as an aside it's fascinating to see Asics get popular with folks in their early 20s and under compared to when I was that age
Go go gadget arms
Yeah they also make excellent shoes for tennis, but aceboon is 100% correct haha.I play club volleyball, and ASICS is still a go-to for the volleyball crowd...
I always viewed them as an ugly running shoe company. I used to wear them when I ran track and X-country as a kid because they were cheaper than Nikes. It's funny they're so incredibly popular now with young people because they're still incredibly ugly.Yeah they also make excellent shoes for tennis, but aceboon is 100% correct haha.

Baltimore is so not the DC metro area.UConn guard Solo Ball returned home to the DC Metro area Thursday night, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before a Baltimore Orioles game at Camden Yards.

Yean I read that. Balenciaga makes knockoff Asics and sells them for $1,200 so young people get the Asics at $140 thinking they're getting a great deal.High end fashion brands copying the designs of the running shoes made them attractive to the younger crowd as a "cheaper"(still over $100) everyday trainer. Back when I was younger wearing Asics as anything outside of a workout shoe would have opened the floodgates for jokes.
Well the game wasn't a night game, it started at 1:05 pm, and it was the 4th game of the series and not the 3rd game. So I'll just add the error you pointed out to those 2. 😀Baltimore is so not the DC metro area.
Someone from Baltimore may be ready to fight for saying they’re DC. Lol
It was the Thursday (8/21) night game....1st game of the seriesWell the game wasn't a night game, it started at 1:05 pm, and it was the 4th game of the series and not the 3rd game. So I'll just add the error you pointed out to those 2. 😀
They are better designed and better made in general, all sports, compared to Nike. Sorry, Nike aficionados. I see way more foot and ankle problems from Nike wearers than all other athletic shoes combined.* It has to do with sole stiffness and arch support mostly.I always viewed them as an ugly running shoe company. Are you sure? You could be right but I was thinking the 8/28 game against the Red Sox because:It was the Thursday (8/21) night game....1st game of the series

Agreed. The two worst brands are Nike and (for people with tiny feet) Adidas. ASICS makes very good running shoes and tennis shoes. Actually better looking than the hideous Nikes I see. The Cumulus remains one of my favorites. Hokas are good but don’t last. They are better designed and better made in general, all sports, compared to Nike. Sorry, Nike aficionados. And re:volleyball, yes, they are great. It's what I wore (30 years ago) playing A level club volleyball.
*Not scientific - it may be due to more Nike wearers. But Nike buys up 90% of the display space in Dick's. You have to really want something else.
Are you sure? You could be right but I was thinking the 8/28 game against the Red Sox because:
1). This was posted that day and the article I posted above was from 8/28. Any mention of this happening in a Google search were all on 8/28. If this happened on 8/21 then this came out a week later.
2). The article I posted above said, "The 2024-25 All-Big East selection also took a few photos with the Orioles' mascot on the diamond before Baltimore capped off its three-game series with division rivals Boston."
3). They did play the Red Sox on 8/28, but it was the 4th game of a 4 game series and the game was at 1:00 p.m. since it was get away day.
All of this lead me to believe it happened on 8/28. But I don't know for sure, I was just assuming.
Yeah, I was there. Game 1 of the series against the Astros. My sons and I ran into him on the concourse and he signed their baseballs lol.Are you sure? You could be right but I was thinking the 8/28 game against the Red Sox because:

Thanks. I should never assume an article in the paper has all the right details. Seems to be a more common occurrence than it should. That's awesome that you got to meet Solo and he signed the baseballs. Seems like a great guy.Yeah, I was there. Game 1 of the series against the Astros. He seemed super humble and down to earth. Always seems to be smiling. And he made my sons' day.Thanks. I should never assume an article in the paper has all the right details. I want to say Solo played some AAU ball for Carmelo Anthony's AAU team, which is based in Baltimore.Solo is from NoVa no? So, poorly written, but perhaps accurate sentence.
