as an aside it's fascinating to see Asics get popular with folks in their early 20s and under compared to when I was that age

I play club volleyball, and ASICS is still a go-to for the volleyball crowd...

Yeah they also make excellent shoes for tennis, but aceboon is 100% correct haha.

I always viewed them as an ugly running shoe company. I used to wear them when I ran track and X-country as a kid because they were cheaper than Nikes. It's funny they're so incredibly popular now with young people because they're still incredibly ugly.

High end fashion brands copying the designs of the running shoes made them attractive to the younger crowd as a "cheaper"(still over $100) everyday trainer. Back when I was younger wearing Asics as anything outside of a workout shoe would have opened the floodgates for jokes.

UConn guard Solo Ball returned home to the DC Metro area Thursday night, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before a Baltimore Orioles game at Camden Yards.

Alternate access:

UConn's Solo Ball throws first pitch at Orioles game, continues Huskies' tradition

Baltimore is so not the DC metro area.

Someone from Baltimore may be ready to fight for saying they’re DC. Lol

Yean I read that. Balenciaga makes knockoff Asics and sells them for $1,200 so young people get the Asics at $140 thinking they're getting a great deal.

Just when I think things can't get any dumber...

Well the game wasn't a night game, it started at 1:05 pm, and it was the 4th game of the series and not the 3rd game. So I'll just add the error you pointed out to those 2. 😀
