It is most definitely not "much better". You could easily argue it is the same. I just don't think the evidence points to it being worse.

What I take as evidence of improvement is that we are simply running 'more' offense. That could be due to a combination of factors, but there were times last year that we had to shut down because we couldn't block anything.

Not turning it over.
A more accurate QB who can run a little bit.
Better overall fitness.
Not getting consistently gashed for big plays.

Overall, IMO there is improvement in OL, despite losing a center to graduation (didn't he go to the CFL?), starter to injury and playing a very young
group of Husky pups. I don't think (& correct me if I'm wrong) but up until this year, they hadn't started many games together.
Better blocking from 2 sophomore TE's. Don't all 11 starters (and most of the 2 deep) return on Offense next year?

I was very critical on the BY of HCBD game management in the past . Very glad to see a tremendous improvement there..... Given where we were the last 4 years, absolutely feeling very good about the direction he has taken the program and the floor he put under the program and the base he is building.

Play calling and getting him into plays where his skill set will thrive is one thing. I believe I saw earlier the OL has allowed the same if not more sacks to this point compared to a year ago.Sure pass blocking and run blocking are not the same, but I believe it gives us much insight into how the line has played and who has benefitted.

Similar sack numbers in far more attempts and I love some of the inside counter traps we've been running but I don't know why Samra is so quick to try to help outside and leave a gap up the middle on pass protection -- I always heard the first rule of pass protection is you block inside first. BTW, none of this should detract from acknowledging the work AK has abviously put in on getting stronger and ball security. I don't think he would have capable of this work load last year. A lot of contributing factors make up the sum of an offense.

Many were critical of HCBD coming into the year, and I'm interested in gauging where the fan perspective is at now that we're 10 games into the season. My personal feeling is that we've got the perfect head coach for our program, and I'd like to hear what the rest of the BY thinks.

The progress is evident. The culture is in place. 2016 should be an exciting year!

I am somewhere between the top slot and the second one. As a head coach, I think he's still learning and will continue to improve. He makes mistakes, but has reduced them. He's getting better. Recruiting looks pretty good. His best attribute is that he is well equipped to be the face of UConn football. He's young, good looking, a little wacky and has boundless energy and enthusiasm. UConn needed more than a competent coach, we needed a salesman and a personality, and we got one. If we start winning, look for Diaco to become a media fixture.

If case there are those who don't realize how bad 2-10 is, are there are more than a few of you. It is exactly one half of one game ahead of Texas State, and they had Sinbad playing defensive end.

Weather it's marginally better or slightly worse it needs to improve. We have 300 lb 6'6 guys that have a hard time pushing back smaller defensive lines Even with a guard as a fullback! The last few games there have been defenders running through untouched ! Fixing this line is our biggest opportunity to ever winning the conference

I gave him the best possible candidate for a few reasons
1 he took the job We are in the AAC he came from Notre Dame with a mindset of fixing this program wanting I'm sure a big ten job in the future

2 Uconn had old tired coaches and the energy was diminished on the team. Diaco has energy and is a spark plug on the sidelines

3. He has been a marketing God for Uconn football. So far coming off a 2-10 season he has gotten Uconn on ESPN several times (him and players) gone out to bars and pubs through Connecticut. He manufactured a conflict and got the last laugh

He is what Uconn needed at the time, not sure any candidate or coach through the country could have foot that bill completely

Overall it is definitely improving I agree but not there yet. I really believe it's close. Was hoping they would show during the Tulane game because it looked better at east Carolina but the weather didn't play along Tough to judge

Okay, so here's what I'm thinking. I'm calling it the Hair Performance Anxiety (HPA) Factor and, based on limited data available to date, I'm assigning a value of HPA 1.0 (steady storm conditions) = -18 offensive points. HPA 0.5 (intermittent hard rain) = -9 points. I suspect Carl may be right on a hat having prophylactic effects but that still begs observation. That bush style hat he was wearing in the spring might be a good starting point.
