I have a book of NY Times Sunday crossword puzzles. I usually turn off my electronics and do a puzzle before I go to bed and tonight I ran across the below. Check out the clue for 2. Down :)

What a showoff! :)

HuskyNan: sorry if I missed the follow ups, but what did you decide to do for your brother's wedding anniversary (or birthday, I forgot)? You were seeking suggestions last year.

I am taking my 3 brothers, their wives, my 2 sons and their significant others, and my husband’s sister to Ruth’s Chris for dinner. It’s a birthday, anniversary, and my son’s pre-wedding party

Is no one struck by the fact that it says women’s basketball powerhouse rather than just basketball powerhouse? I mean, the guys have won 6 championships in the last 25 years, after all

You are right about them limiting to women instead of "basketball powerhouse", but whether it's 6 or fewer depends on when the crossword was published.

It is from Apr 5, 2020, so only 4 championships, but still powerhouse-level.

I have a NYT games subscription and I checked. I do the Mon-Thu every day but rarely attempt the weekend ones. I do them on my phone or on a tablet.

While I was glad to see the NYT Clue, I mentioned it to my daughter and she turned a whiter shade of pale. I'd never heard of this but she swears a powerhouse has never won the championship when they were a clue in March in the NYT crossword. Now I'll have to come up with some powerful Juju or maybe just sacrifice a Costco chicken.

It’s not recent, if that helps. It’s from 2020

Might have to upgrade to a Whole Foods chicken to have any effect
