Here are some stats, though we'll have an answer as to who is the better team in a few weeks. Average UConn score 89-52 (average margin of victory 37.3), average South Carolina score 77-55 (average margin of victory 21.5). UConn has scored 90+ 7 times, and 100+ 3 times. South Carolina has scored 90+ 2 times, and 100+ 0 times. UConn's lowest score was 73, South Carolina's 59.
That could be the final score!

Great. Now let's skip the game, accept the win, tip our caps to a worthy opponent, and make Statistics a Sacrament. (Having to play these games makes me way too nervous . . . )

If South Carolina loses to UConn that's pretty embarrassing. I mean a P5 team losing to a mid-major? And from the world's greatest conference, the SEC? Isn't that a bit like Michigan football losing to Appy State?

Considering A&M was coming out of a timeout only seconds before the incredibly dumb play by Shlonte Allen that literally handed the game to SCarolina, you have to believe coach Blair laid out their options. And fouling with .9 seconds left in a 58-58 game was absolutely NOT one of them. Goes to show that the game isn't all physical- the mental component, when absent, will kill you.

Did the announcers notice the dumb foul yet ? Ward said nothing, and Peck barely mentioned it, called it questionable.

The only thing that is questionable is the sugary announcers.

Gary Blair is BY FAR one of my favorite coaches in WCBB. Win or lose, he always has complimentary things to say about SC. When they beat us a few years ago he spent the majority of the post game presser talking about how great a team SC was. I was very impressed. Even today, in defeat, he was extremely classy. He's quite the fellow..
Agree - he is quite a gentleman and a very funny guy to listen to as well.

Meanwhile, didn't Stanford lose to Oregon State? The Cardinal progrsm seems similar to last season's.

We average 77 a game, but what's a little matter of 9 points?

cockhrnleghrn- - -So 77 points is SoCar average! The question now becomes can the team that beat Tam on a stupid foul 59-58 turn around and beat UCONN? I think not! UCONN's defense and offense is way too much for SoCar to handle!

You can't extrapolate like that from one game to the next. You guys will be favored in that game, but I don't think you can notch it as a victory yet.

totally agree, the two teams have different sets of opponents, you cannot compare apples with oranges. Did anybody remember the half time score in one of the NCAA finals (2010?) with UConn's greatest scorer Maya against Stanford?
