Poor Taliek Brown.
Actually, it's amazing that Ben averaged about the same # of assists as Bazz and Kemba, since was the 2 behind Taliek, not the point.

In 03/04 TB averaged 6.5 assists to BG's 4.5. I'm pretty sure Taliek still holds the all-time assist record at UConn with 722, and the record for double figure assist games with 13.

If Shabazz stays and wins the 2013-2014 NCAA Tournament, he will be the best Husky of all time. Why? Because he will have two rings. 67% of what Jim Calhoun has. That, in my opinion, is better than Kemba, Rip, or Emeka.

Agreed because he will have to have a Kemba type season for us to win it all

Agree with this. Shabazz would be the greatest husky of all time if we win it all because of the 2 championships, but also because he will need to have a spectacular Senior year for the team to get to and win that championship. Also, he stuck through the program in a time of its greatest flux and despair... through thick and thin, true blue.

yep, that's a lot of assists! I would bet that Bazz's numbers would jump significantly if our current players shot as well as the 2004 team.

And that's mainly because of the MW suspension leaving the team with just Taliek and Gordon as the primary ball handlers.

Yea, can't imagine how many assists he loses per game when he's distributing in the 1st half and guys are missing wide open jumpers.

He also has potential to win 2 big east POY (which only rip has done), and potential to win the Naismith (which no husky has done). Love Shabazz, nothing but class.

As deserving as he may be, coaches will probably just put in Cooley without blinking.
First Team will be something like:
Cooley
Fair
Melvin
Smith
Carter-Williams
Cotton

Shabazz will be buried somewhere on the third team.

Unfortunately you're probably correct. What a shame...

I've never seen someone with the ability to take over a game like he can. IMO, even more of an impact player than Kemba. Here is why- I think Shabazz learned from Kemba, and built from this. He is essentially a Kemba Walker with a better FG percentage. Kemba created a monster that is Shabazz Napier. Next year could be dangerous if the 6'1" monster returns.

MCW better keep that dribble tight and down or there may be some strippage tonight!!
