Snakes are definitely friends - hate the bad rap they get because Bible. If they’re in your house (or tent), yes, that sucks, and do whatever you have to to get them out.
But if you just see them in your yard or in the woods, from a safe distance, they’re just doing their job. Let the rat snakes and king snakes be.
Venomous snake obviously a little different. Won’t claim to have any kind of expertise or experience that warrants a recommendation, but they’re also just doing their thing. If they’re not in the vicinity of your space, please let them be. Especially Timbers, that are now critically endangered and no longer found in CT outside of the Taconic Section.
