was a pretty good game they were down 12 at the half good for them

Watched the final minute on WatchESPN and there were no announcers. Different for sure. Congrats to SMU. Anytime you can beat an ACC team, it's a good thing.

I hope the hot steamy pile that is a AAC wins the NIT- and we win the other one. GO SMU!!!!!!!

Unfortunately we are DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!

Weird. I watched the final 2 minutes on WatchESPN and there were announcers.

SMU will be a preseason top 15 team next year, they will essentially take Louisville's spot as a power team. If Houston hires Sampson I could see them being what SMU was this year with their talent, that along with hopefully Temple returning to their A-10 status and the league should be good again up at the top. With our FF run and SMU's performance in the NIT hopefully the seeding committee will have respect for the league next year.

A little fact that I hadn't considered until I heard it during the SMU broadcast tonight: The American has a chance to win all four hoops tournaments this year (men's - UConn, women's - UConn, mNIT - SMU, wNIT - Rutgers and USF). If so, I'm not sure that has ever happened in the history of hoops. If so, that is friggin' impressive for a brand new league! Of course, I will settle for just the men's and women's NCAA tourneys because I'm not greedy...

p.s.
The fact that Rutgers could win any championship of any type is probably the most impressive part of this whole scenario.

Congratulations to SMU and hope all our conference teams do well.

Having said that, I wish that UConn fans and posters begin to refrain from bad mouthing the AAC. It is well known that UConn does not want to be part of this conference, but there is no reason to bad mouth the conference we are in. It does not make sense from many levels. I realize that many of us are just venting and using words like, $ h i t h o l e, purgatory, h $ l l, dumpster fire etc., to metaphorically describe it. And sure, we are all free to post what we feel. But the reality is we are here for the time being. Let's not add to perceptions that are often not accurate. Hey we want out of the AAC. No need for the adjectives, that I am guessing, make us look a little arrogant and spoiled.

Again, not picking on any one poster, and don't mean to preach; just putting this out there. So, yes, I want out of the AAC, but I support the conference.

JMHO.

AAC needs to get someone onto the selection committee. The league was royally screwed by the two ACC guys sitting on the committee. If Aresco does not do something about that, he needs to go. League can't go through another tournament being screwed.

That being said, SMU should have been in the tournament over NCST.

Congrats to SMU - between our FF run (both men & women), SMU's NIT run, and UCF winning the Fiesta Bowl, the AAC needs this sort of success in the worst way.

Congrats to SMU nice win!!

While the NCAA tourney was deserved this could be better for them as they are one of only 6 teams still playing…….

Actually we would be content here at 20-25M per year.

Don't think the national media or more then a few AAC fans come to the Boneyard to gage the temperature of UCONN feeling about the AAC. If I ever see "hot steamy pile" in the NYT I will promptly shut my mouth.

SMU has a reasonable contingent at MSG. Also, I wouldn't be against a few SMU fans shooting on over to the Jerry's World to support UConn.

SMU looked down in the first half. They came back and just absolutely stifled Clemson in the second half. A brilliant effort by the team and Larry Brown. They easily could have just packed it up at the end of the first half, but they had the better players and trusted themselves in that fact for the second half. The defense was amazing. I can't say any bad things about SMU, that was a fantastic effort on their part last night.
