Watched the final minute on WatchESPN and there were no announcers.
A little fact that I hadn't considered until I heard it during the SMU broadcast tonight: The American has a chance to win all four hoops tournaments this year (men's - UConn, women's - UConn, mNIT - SMU, wNIT - Rutgers and USF). If so, I'm not sure that has ever happened in the history of hoops. If so, that is friggin' impressive for a brand new league! Of course, I will settle for just the men's and women's NCAA tourneys because I'm not greedy...
p.s.
The fact that Rutgers could win any championship of any type is probably the most impressive part of this whole scenario.
Congratulations to SMU and hope all our conference teams do well.
Having said that, I wish that UConn fans and posters begin to refrain from bad mouthing the AAC. It is well known that UConn does not want to be part of this conference, but there is no reason to bad mouth the conference we are in. It does not make sense from many levels. I realize that many of us are just venting and using words like, $ h i t h o l e, purgatory, h $ l l, dumpster fire etc., to metaphorically describe it. And sure, we are all free to post what we feel. But the reality is we are here for the time being. Let's not add to perceptions that are often not accurate. Hey we want out of the AAC. No need for the adjectives, that I am guessing, make us look a little arrogant and spoiled.
Again, not picking on any one poster, and don't mean to preach; just putting this out there. So, yes, I want out of the AAC, but I support the conference.
JMHO.
Don't think the national media or more then a few AAC fans come to the Boneyard to gage the temperature of UCONN feeling about the AAC. If I ever see "hot steamy pile" in the NYT I will promptly shut my mouth.Congratulations to SMU and hope all our conference teams do well.
