Slightly OT: UNLV Starting QB quits after 3 games, plans to transfer for more NIL money (Merged)

I am not surprised Derek Steven got involved here…he loves any media attention…

Interesting comment:

-> Hajj-Malik Williams is expected to replace Sluka at quarterback, and bettors are backing the sixth-year transfer at Circa. UNLV is a 1.5-point favorite over Fresno State in Saturday’s game at Allegiant Stadium after the Bulldogs briefly were favored when news broke of Sluka’s departure.

“After seeing the number move back up, maybe it’s Hajj-Malik we should have been focused on,” Palm said. <-

Mike Burton was explaining how Bleeding Blue works. 10 minutes in and I'm learning a lot about the process.

This is great advertisement and should be shared with any current and future recruit.

Excellent discussion, thanks.

it puts UNLV in a bad position with recruits going forward as we know recruits talk to one another

College football was always suppose to be amateur. Receive a full scholarship, get your education paid for, GET AN EDUCATION, play for four years then move on. For some, the NFL was an option, for the rest, use that degree. Sure there's always been cheating, but then punish the schools. College football needs to be blown up and reshaped.

Football is a punishing game for football players. Colleges were making significant revenue off of free labor and using football revenue to fund their whole athletic department. Football players should be paid. What makes most sense is to have a player collective bargaining agreement. I think revenue sharing makes sense with NIL going back to what it should have been. The issue is in realty there is only about 40 teams that revenue sharing would be much greater than the rest of the FBS teams. College football has always been 25 teams that play highest level of football and rest FBS teams have zero chance to win a national championship. I am starting to think to make it more competitive have a league of 40 teams and rest of FBS plays for their own championship. I think that would make football more interesting,

I want to know what those practices looked like because Williams looked way better than what I saw from Sluka in the game vs Kansas.
